I think at this point they’ll need to make a clean divide between PVE class gameplay and PVP gameplay.
I think they’re adding lot’s of “power fantasy” stuff that’s simply designed to be fun in world content and PVE, which is great! I wish this game focused more on being fun.
…but this stuff, like you highlighted, isn’t going to be fun in pvp at all.
Also an opinion. what is good is always an opinion when it comes to games . I liked gw2 pvp alot more than wow before it also became stunfest. was it better? for me, because that’s my opinion. learn from this
Insist on pvping? LOL. It’s a legitimate game mode, there are still pvp only guilds and pvp only players around. Yes, there are better pvp games, esp. very obviously non-mmo pvp games, but that doesn’t change the fact we’ve been playing WoW pvp for more than a decade therefore have an attachment to it. We are paying for the game, its services etc. just like everyone else so we are absolutely in a position to demand some attention to the modes. We don’t even demand much tbh. New raids eat much more resources and that’s ok ofc, we know it’s a pve only game for most people.
I for example have no idea why people insist on putting other groups of people down. Be it casuals, hardcore players, pvpers, mount farmers, you name it.
Brb I gotta tell people on the LoL forum to play chess if they want to pvp.
I quit PvPing because they’re never going to make it actually enjoyable. It has always been you either die too fast, you get stunned to death or you spend half the game CCed or you run into some ridiculously tanky guy that just won’t die because the class is OP as hell.
There’s never been a middleground in WoW, it’s always been extremes like this, one or the other or even several at the same time, depending on when you’re playing.
Fix it… depends on what it means to you. It’s never been in a well balanced state and it’ll never be, but there were definitely expansions when the experience was better and expansions when the experience was worse. All I want is for it to be better than now. DF is looking good in the gearing department, the trees scare me just as much as they excite me so I’m not making conclusions now, maybe I’ll be complaining here in a few months, but except for a few seasons, I still love the pvp. It also depends on your personality and the people you play with. I can’t stand raging and I mostly play for fun. If you play for the achi only, I did that only once so far, it does put more stress on you and others and you definitely get more frustrated with the gameplay, I would not recommend that to most people. I’d recommend a pvp only game by a different developer.
For me people running the same dungeon(s) over and over with increasing difficulty seems utterly unfun. Combined with checking some logs to see your performance, which makes it look even more like a chore.
Yet obviously these things are fun for a lot of people and I am happy for them. And I could also say, if you want to do the same content over and over with increasing difficulty, go play Diablo. But that would be close minded.
