I like to play WW in arena. This tier it has been horrible to play, the queue times are incredibly long, ppl in LFG don’t want monks and now the new nerfs are 40% on thunderfist (most damaging ability) and 30% on skyreach which was literally the staple of monk gameplay.
There are only 2 monks with 2400+ on the ladder, one of them is Tyga who is 3.5k exp best monk in the world, he has 2408 rating. Why is that too much? Why is blizzard “not comfortable” with 2 monks reaching 2400 and okay with all other classes reaching it.
Anyway, as a ww pvp player, there is literally no reason to play this expansion anymore. I played the entire Shadowlands expansion but the pvp experience there was much more bearable.
To use Blizzard words, the way blizzard nerfs classes without reason is more than i’m comfortable with and I will be unsubbing, just wanted to share my frustration.
Everybody (that doesn’t play it) seems to put WW in a really good spot.
I really wonder how people make it work honestly.
Your big wall (karma) does nothing and breaks in half a second, you have 4 defensives but they’re all pretty meh and you almost always have to overlap them in order to feel a “slight” damage reduction on yourself.
You get trained every single game running for your life most of the time, you’ve got absolutely no self heal so any way to survive on your own besides your mobility if your healer’s ccd.
Burst is good but honestly… not outstanding. Yeah you’ll one shot time to time if you pop tiger (2min CD) , keefer (1min CD , 6sec duration) , fae , sweep, Sotl , Serenity , so basically every single CD you’ve got in the same go , and it’s one the the most scripted burst in the game, 90% of the time people will deny it, just chain cc the monk, kite away , pop a defensive, gg burst denied.
Like every other melees can burst all the same , while having better sustain, better survivability, better defensives, better ccs. Yet people keep saying WW’s broken, I really can’t figure out how they went into this statement. For me it’s straight up bad , not horrible , but really far away from being “OP”. Yet they’re dumpstering the burst next week.
I’m at 2350 in shuffle and honestly it’s been such a struggle. There are so many situations where I just died literally 3sec after popping double wall + karma at 70% hp like I don’t know man, maybe some 3.6xp multi R1 can make it work, for me it just doesn’t.

People seem to forget that even R1 players can be PUSHED into winning because of the group setup hence meaning they are being carried by there team mates, so even if a class is bad they can be carried.
This is most likely the case also atm sadly enough …
idk how to play ww w/o 4 tier sets, i mean 70% of the games WW is the target, just a glass, i mean we have 99% of dh in ladder and hugest nerf for WW cuz plebs on 1400 were crying about one shots :\
i mean where i should use my super +15% fists ? just to got random storm bolt or any stun in them and die instantly?

This class is extremely hard to play compared to most melee specs out there , it’s a glass cannon , easily countered by a tone of skills …
Has one of the lowest representations in instanced pvp .

i just leveled up my monk to 70 just to see it before changes and all what you guys saying “this class is extremely hard to play” … in shuffle where ppl have like 419ilvl i got like cc for 10s then i dash into two targets, aoe stun, burst and dude died… nothing hard just, must know how to play it at the right time
Yes it works at 1400 when people ignore your 4gcd setup, don’t use trinket/def and don’t target you (or target you and do kidney in your face while you cast fists). Monks burst is too predictable and monk have no survability to do sustain dmg which they are giving in exchange. At least karma should be buffed.
ya man you know everything, you’ve been in all my arenas so far as spectator if for example warr uses spear and go burst at first charge i disarm him he trinkets and then got stunned and after that hes gone… but ye you’re always right :3
You’re describing the situation that only happens in very low rating where people barely know how to play the game, the game shouldn’t be tuned for new players who don’t know the mechanics yet
he trinkets what a disarm ? wtf you talking about dude … what game are you playing !?
on top of that why would you stun someone if you disarmed him ?
seem to me you have the biggest knowledge of the game then all of us !

you’re just proving the point we made, for you to win you need your opponent to use trinket on disarm??? that is a move a rare few of very new players will make against monk.
You might as well say the spec is easy because you fought someone who’s afk so we should just fight afk people

This game has a garbage community anyway its like a toxic relationship. There are 10 Russ telling anyone the best is unviable
In a 1v1 ITR situation this kind of player had no chance in an arena
Warriors have stormbolt, they don’t need it.
The best way to play the game is to get the pvp gear and go kill the PVE geared turds trying to do the quests.
