Why blood elves don't understand common?

They for centuries were a part of alliance and all should know it. So why?

they don’t understand what ?

alliance common language

It is same like if your ancestors migrated from a country long ago and you cannot speak their language .
For example my ancestors long ago moved from Ukraine .but I can’t speak Ukrainian or Russian language .the only thing I have left of Ukraine is last caste name of Ukraine heritage .

They do. It’s a gameplay mechanic, nothing else.

Not really
The Alliance is an evolution of the original Alliance of Lordaeron
The Alliance of Lordaeron was formed as a response to the threat of the Orcish Horde during the Second War.
The kingdom of Quel’Thalas while had contact with the Humans, they were not allies… just owed them a favor and the Humans had to twist the Elves are to send help

Blood elf’s are nothing more than tusk-less trolls who are spending too much time in beauty saloons instead of getting education.

There’s a lot of things that are there for just gameplay mechanic reasons and not for lore

really
high elves became a part of alliance(even when wasn’t called so) after troll wars while humans kingdoms were ruled by Thoradin, and that was 2800 years before the first war
so high elves were a part of alliance for a very long time

This.

Horde and Alliance were not supposed to understand eachother to avoid flaming in PvP. Though with cross faction stuff, this feature seems to lose meaning.

that have no meaning since pandaren and be/ve could use pandaren and thallasian for that

in part right, only elves live here for thousands of years

Hey dont blame me for my 9 step skin routine!

Because the language barrier is a non-canon measure added by the devs for enforcing the faction barrier, limiting WoW to a nonsense two-faction gameplay experience.

This non-canon language barrier only applies for players, and not for NPCs, making it even more stupid. How come Cenarion Circle is a functioning organisation of Night Elves and Tauren and why aren’t Night Elf and Tauren players allowed to understand each other?

No, [Elixir of Tongues] doesn’t count and frankly is a halfass measure because Blizzard do not dare doing something with the elephant in the room due to

Muh faction pride!

oh i forgot, there also were an item for that

it could be true…if transcription from unknown languages was generated randomly, but, everything is “fixed” so you literally can say something to someone from another faction with knowledge in what symbols your text will be translated and on classic servers it’s used alot

Go and see the library of Sunfury Spire! It’s quite vast, in all honesty - but I really hope one of the magisters will obtain a Common language book soon, so we wouldn’t have to rely on the Elixir of Tongues. :books:

But I suppose you are right, quite a few of us spend a lot of time to perfect our looks.

Those books are nothing more than wall decoration. Color me surprised.

It’s kind of how warlocks can’t speak demonic even tho they summon and control demons, make pacts with them and even curse others to speak demonic with curse of tongues.

All of our characters dropped out of school before they could learn another language.
