Why call it world first with head start

I was always wondering why they call it world first but they start with a day between releases NA,EU and Asia. :man_shrugging:

Call it Continent first next time lol

Would be nice to see they start all on the same day and same time and see who would win.

As an asia guild i think i would not attend to this race lol

Too late, Aster already did and confirmed they are going for RWF themselves to.

if you work out the time diffrance they all started at the same point time wise

We in EU start exactly 16 hours after but by then the bugs and reworks make it a little easier for us to catch up .

I wish that whenever an NA guild gets “world first”, a 16 hour timer would start running for EU, and however many hours it is for Asia.

But that’s assuming NA doesn’t get stuck on bugged bosses. Then it wouldn’t be very fair. I’m expecting Mythic Sylvanas to be super buggy.

it’s like when Americans call themselves world champion in their American football… when only Americans play it…

i know about the bugfixes but it is still a bit silly

Back when method was mopping the floor with everyone else, It was always interesting to see. Because they did it, despite having a disadvantage.

It’s like seeing the underdog winning the race.

But now that limit actually has a better chance of winning, due to the separation of the guild, It’s not as fun anymore.

This needs to be a global release, for it to be a fair fight.

You know for N’zoth EU killed like 2 days later right

Well, anyone else is free to try but… They don’t like to. People do the same thing for Rugby, and Soccer(Futbol) etc.

Yes, in that case NA keep their world first. I’m not saying NA are winning striclty because they have a head start. All I’m saying is that if EU was to kill the end boss before the 16 hour timer ran out, they could claim the world first, not that they would absolutely win the race.

What about difference in maintenance downtime, waiting for bug fixes/bugged bosses? loss in trying to log into a populated server? Power outages in areas, or other things that effect time loss/gain?

I thought about that as well, but since it’s a community driven event, they are in direct contact with each other and those things could be accounted for. Plus all those things can affect the current race format just as much. For example if EU ended up with a longer maintenance period than NA, making the “head start” even longer, or vice versa, making it shorter.

Obviously, a normalized launch on a tournament realm would be ideal. Those are all just workarounds that could compensane for the issues.

Everyone should start at the same time. Currently the USA teams get a massive head start and wind of experience.

A fixed start time for all is good. I don’t care if it means people in the USA have to play at 4AM. It’s the only way to be fair in gamesmanship and the only way to have a true world first race.

What we have in reality are regional firsts .
