Why can Brewmaster and Mistweaver no longer Dual-Wield?

Title.

I know that Legion made everyone stick to their artifacts and BM/MW got a staff, but… why have they lost the ability to Dual Wield in levelling content and now in BFA?

There does not seem to be much of a reason for it that I can find. Something about weapon attack speed? But neither is a DPS spec so… why should that matter? It’s just stat sticks anyway, they don’t even use their weapons in the animations save for Blackout Strike for BM

For the same reason, WW has to use 1h weapons to use Fists of Fury, even tho he is sheat them. or the short version “Blozzord”

Unless I miss my guess, offhand items have less stats than a 1h weapon, and mistweaver would gain an advantage over other casters by having twinsies

For brewmaster, if you wanted a good answer, because you can block far more solidly with a staff held in both hands than you can with a pair of swords. Dual weapons are an offensive setup whereby you’re throwing enough problems at your opponent that you hope they can’t find time to get a shot back at you.

The real answer is likely that it adds some visual differences between the specs.

I really dislike having to obtain different weapon types for WW and BM when they both apparently just use their hands for everything.
.
It is a side effect of the now irrelevant artifact weapons I bet

I do miss using a staff for WW. I thought it really worked with the class fantasy to whack things with a bamboo stick, but Blizz disagreed :frowning:
