I had a 2H weapon with elemental spec. While elemental shamans can wear this, it makes no sense because there’s now a castable shield enchantment that is essential, so every elemental shaman will use a shield.
Legion artifact weapon was 2 handed.
Maybe a remnant from that era?
Yeah same with holy pally because the shield gives more defence and you are kinda a melee healer 90% of time
You should change loot specialization to protection if you want to play with 1h and shield and tank trinkets, else you will get 2h with healer trinkets as options in your vault . Why does this happen? Well at Legion hpal were using 2h. Personally I like it , it resemblances Uther Additionally they aimed hpla to play melee and heal , but they failed to do so. For optimization choose what best .

Not entirely true. Switching to prot for pala gives you only weapons with strenght and zero int, even if you switch spec to holy the 1h weapon will still have str.
While indeed in Legion Hpala’s used a 2h because it was their artifact, right after 99% of the time they used a 1h with int and a shield. Once in a blue moon blizz puts in a 2h mace with int for some reason and OP just got ‘unlucky’ and got that.
If you look at the loot tables for the raid and m+ you see there’s otherwise a lot of 1-handers with int for Hpala’s /Rsham

I Agree it’s would be cool but since i lose 13% in phys reduction dmg taken no one is gonna go twohander unless it’s gives massive int boost and the weapon dmg on the 2hander aint that big

It shouldn’t. Without a shield you can’t even use shield of the rightious.

Yeah, as a Fury Warrior, I have my loot spec to Arms, so I get less chance of getting one-handers. Its annoying, but its a fairly simple solution.

As a healer you can’t do that. You are locking yourself out of weapons and trinkets you would like to get. A holy paladin can’t loot-spec prot or retri (i suppose prot since retri wants 2 handers).
Kinda figured we’d see a continuation of this when the Dalaran Defender’s Greatsword rocked up in the pre-patch at ilvl 480.
