Why can you not play PvP and PvE on one character?

Why is it that you get so punished for playing both PvP and PvE on one character? Having shared vault might have made sense when the best PvP gear was on par with the best PvE gear, but right now you have no choice but to pick PvE items every week if you ever wanna reach close to bis.

One thing is having to wait months to get the conquest gear. And while this is definitely an issue, it would have been way worse if not for the wPvP gear to bridge the gap. But the fact you can never get everything socketed, feels very very bad. I’ll need a total of 10 weeks just to socket one set of PvP gear and one PvE, which coupled with the already absurd rng involved in actually getting “bis” from m+ vault makes it nigh impossible to fully gear my character.

Even if the margins arent necessarily gamebreaking, its the concept of being punished for investing in your character - something that you should be rewarded for - that is deeply disturbing.

TLDR:
Separate PvP and PvE vault. Let us purchase sockets with conquest and valor once a certain threshold has been reached.

Yeah, the vault offering a choice between PvE and PvP really only makes sense in a world where the two compete.

That time is passed.

Also forgot to mention how you have to wait forever to get both sets converted to tier for set bonus :expressionless:

I’d actually argue that the whole point of having a PvP reward in the weekly vault is a bit … gone. Just increase the weekly cap and scrap the PvP reward from the vault altogether.

That is also a very good option that I think most people would be happy with. But either way they have to find a better solution for sockets and tier.

Well you only really get punished if your main goal is PvE since PvP gear scales very competetively with rating to be honest, but PvE gear is still dumpster in arenas

Not sure if I understand what you mean
Are you saying 408 elite pvp gear is comparable to 421 pve gear?

I’m saying the carryover difference from maxed pvp gear to pve is smaller than that of pve to pvp, the former might not be ideal, but the latter will make you glass to such an extent you’re better off buying honor blues

bfa had seperate weekly chests right

And how is that relevant to this thread? The gap is too big either way.

Yes

thought so wasnt 100% sure tho cos i dont do rated pvp
