Would it be too much to make Soar work exactly like Dragonriding?
It’s not like it would be overpowered. Druids have flight form, Worgen have a mount as a racial too. They have wings, they should be able to use them properly.

Many things in real life have wings but can’t really fly for any appreciable distance. Chickens is the first one that springs to mind.
Also, Dracthyr aren’t actually dragons (which was sorta a disappointment).

that would require almost the same amount of work as adding flight form to druids so it’s not easy. also, dragonriding is not avaliable in old zones so maybe they can add it in the future after 10.1.5, i don’t think they will add it tho

During shadowlands I was hoping that we’d get kyrian allied race that could use their wings to fly, kind of like worgen have the running wild as ground mounts. While the dracthyr aren’t quite as cool as the kyrian I still see no reason why they can’t use their wings to fly.

Make Soar the same as DHs ‘‘Wing thing’’ (totally dont remember the name). Then make the current Dracthyr ‘‘Soar’’ into a racial Dragonriding mount, that when you activate it (with cast time, like usual) you gain access to your dragonriding abilities and passives. Which can also be used as a regular ‘‘flying mount’’ outside the Dragon Isles.
How are choked humans with wings cooler than a Dracthyr?
I’d take smurf angels over goofy winged lizards anytime of the day but that is just me.

My drakthyr would love to be able to fly properly. I was very surprised when I realised she would have to sit on a dragon.
