Yeah you get an on use effect eventually like puny said, I wish you could attach a glider until then though. I’m gonna forget I dont have a glider anymore some day and fall to my death.

You can create some or buy some at PvP section (Mugambala and houk map) for the moment.

Came here to ask the exact same question.
And yes for now I’ve just created a stack of 20 of the single use gliders and changed my macro to use them instead of activating the cloak.

screw the on use garbage i want my damn glider back , do you know how many times my glider has saved my butt in world pvp , i get smashed by grps of trolling horde try-hards on a daily basis now and alot of the time my glider would have saved me , thanx a lot blizz , a perm glider was about the only utility reason to be an engineer anymore

Just buy goblin glider kits. That’s how I resolved the issue, although it’s still a pain not having an unlimited amount of them like the cloak enchant.
im sorry but “just buy the glider kits is not the answer” for one they use old mats to make (which i can) which ultimately mean i now have to go farming old zones for old mats just to replace what should be an engineering perk by right , blizz damn well would have foreseen this they have their data they know how many glider kits are purchased and i know im giving those numpties at dev hq more credit than they deserve but surely knowing all that a simple fix would have been to move the glider to a different equip item like the belt (coincidentally where most of the other tinkers are) or put it on the chest slot i dunno something

Or just buy a stack of them off the AH for like 100g, which is 1/3rd of a WQ lol. Not saying it’s not convenient, I’m just saying the issue isn’t life or death situation.
i could do that for sure but , why should i have too , this is for blizz to fix they broke it after all , asking us to bypass their oversight is not then answer
I actually preferred the parachute on my cloak, and then carry a stack of the glider kits as well. It meant I could use them more often due to the cooldown.
I hate having to use a kit when I just want to land straight down.
And I’m scared to death of using my nitro boost, the bugger has killed me twice now!
I died in wpvp thanks to that. Made a glorious escape on my WW vs a group of 5 hordes. Mounted up, got slowed by that flying thing in Uldum, got dismounted and came up 57 seconds short on the CD on the gliders I had in my backpack. I would have had the cloak gob glider available if it still worked. Needless to say, I fell to my death.
