I got into a situation of not being able to complete a weekly island quest because I had a treasure map in my inventory and I couldn’t use it cause I already had 1 treasure mission in progress. So I had to wait 2 days so the mission gets done or throw away the treasure map (banking it didn’t work I tried). I’d love to know whats the reasoning behind this. Are these treasure maps really so big that we can’t have 2 of them in our inventory?
I am damn sure there is a wow comic about a gnome needing to loot Onyxia’s head, but cant, since the gnomes bag are full, he then find a small feather and remove that, then goes “better!” and loot Onyxia’s giant head thats 100 time bigger then this gnome the comic was about.
On another note, thats kinda silly tbh, that you cant save up multi maps, anyway, thanks for the heads up!

I remember that comic! Those were so good. 
One reasoning could be that you can to some degree hoard AP by saving maps. The main reward can be many things, but the bonus reward is always AP. Therefore, by stocking up on maps and waiting for the catchup mechanic to get sufficiently strong, you could get more AP out of these maps than you would if you simply used them continuously.
I find this explanation very weak, but nonetheless it is my guess. It is weak because:
- The only guaranteed AP is from the bonus loot, and with the 50% success chance penalty you cannot guarantee bonus loot except in very specific cases.
- The missions take damn long to do and if you’re going to do several in a row you will probably forfeit AP from regular missions that you don’t have available followers for.
Perhaps there is a better explanation, or perhaps Blizzard just anticipated some cunning player saving them up to gain some advantage neither they nor I seem to be able to figure out and made them unique as a precaution.
I didn’t even know you can get AP from these missions because all missions I get are for gold.
I’m on my 3rd AP treasure mission. I’ve also had a rubbish leather item and some gold missions.
A guildie got a mount mission and another got TR.
Welp, at least I’m getting rich.
I farm a lot of AP so I don’t mind getting those but I’d really like a mount.
