Why can't i transmog to my Artifact?

I’m holy priest.
Been using a staff for ages, and it’s been transmoged as the DISC Mage tower appearance.
I’ve now got a dagger, and i can transmog it into my other staff artifact appearances, but the mage tower one has now gone?

Confused as to why I can’t?
I’d understand if it was ‘daggers can only be daggers’ but it can be my other artifacts staves.

Any ideas?

The artifact weapons appear in 2 categories; “Legion Artifacts” (I think) and whatever weapon type they actually are. Are you perhaps looking in the Staves category instead of the Artifacts ones?

No i have only the option of ‘Dagger’ or ‘Legion Artifacts’.
Some reason, the mage tower one vanishes when i equip my dagger but the other staff artifacts are there.

No idea then. Is your current weapon on a “refundable” timer? That sometimes messes with things. Guessing that’s not it either though.

No it’s not on a timer, so i have no idea!
Just annoying considering the Staff was hard to get/no longer obtainable.

Heart broken i can’t use it now cos i have a dagger… but my other staves are there >:( </3

Thanks for the help though x

Yeah the Tmog system is whack like that
If you’ve got a dagger out you can ONLY Tmog it to daggers, which means you’re restricted to Xal’atath from the Legion Artifact tab or regular dagger appearances

I wouldn’t mind if that was the case, but i can transmog into other legion staves, not just daggers.

Using ‘legion artifacts’ tab from tmog menu, you can always transmog your weapon into an artifact that matches your current spec, even if weapon types do not match.
If you want to tmog into an artifact weapon from another spec, regular tmog restrictions apply (and you have to pick appearance from normal appearance tabs, not artifact tab) - so if you are disc trying to mog into holy artifact, it has to be a staff. If you want Xal’atath as disc, you have to equip a dagger. But, using legion artifact tab, you can mog into T’uure as holy no matter what type of weapon you’re holding, as an example.
