I see no reason for this.
Personally, I’d love to transmog into some of the starter gear, or the early level gear you buy from armour and weaponsmiths.

part of me wants to see that.
Another part of me wonders how triggering it would be to go around the classic zones, farming grey stuff for transmog.
But seriously, overall it would be nice.
While it isnt exactly the same as what you want on Exiles reach there will be really nice basic weapon sets! So atleast we get something. (I have no idea if there will also be armor sets)
I always wanted basic warlock and priest robes on my cloth characters, so i like the idea to make them mogable druid starting robe fits class fantasy perfectly, then you change it for ugly pants and you look like rogue with 2 hander.
The cited reason was some "silly-looking’’ items being included in these rarities and Blizzard wants to maintain some “seriousness”. I don’t understand it either, don’t shoot the messenger.
Sucks that I cannot transmogrify the Dalaran turban…
Plenty of silly looking non-trivial items.
The issue I see is as far as I remember they didn’t go back and change the 1-40 grey and white items that were mail meant for warriors and paladins, but isn’t that also true of green and blues at that level range?
They ought to also make it so 1-40 mail can be transmogged by plate wearers, and 1-40 leather by mail.
I just desperately want the gear that toons start in to be moggable. Like the goblin/worgen/belf starting gear
Meanwhile they’re adding sausage hats, yeti onesies, lucha libre outfits, pimp outfits, fish weapons and a whole list of other stuff. Yeah…
“Seriousness”? But you can go around naked with “Hidden ” mog options
I want the white pirate mog
Because Blizzard hates greys and whites
What I want more is be able to transmog to any type of armor… we can already make a mage look like a plate user and a warrior look like a naked dude in his pajamas.
Immersion argument has been blown out of the water with the Yeti outfit and others.
Just let it happen ! So I can finally play a shaman or hunter, mail armor is so poor in terms of good transmogs.
At least on some item slots. I want to wear a pirate cloth hat.
Yeah, I get it… heavy melee warriors must wear heavy armors but the helm isnt necessary. Let us mog our head slot freely!
Maybe not all armor, but at least one armor type below/above yours. Meaning for example as a hunter I could transmog mail and leather, while as a priest I can use cloth and leather.
What’s jarring is that this is exactly what happens in the Darkshore-warfront for example. The entire Forsaken Deathguard wears the mail set, while using shield and sword meanwhile the night elven archers wear leather, while the druids wear cloth. Meaning that I cannot even cosplay one of these soldiers!
I agree. Pandaren starter gear looks really great and is unique (expecially robes) but it’s white and even if it’s soulbound, you cannot use them for transmog.
I still have all 3 robes in my bags just in case this changes in the future.
I wish I could:
Cheers.
I don’t think non-BoP white items should be added to the transmogs but the BoP ones should be.
Why is that?
Why are all these 120s stomping all over starter zones, annihilating everything? Oh transmog farming
That’ll be something.
I’m kind of curious about how shadowlands leveling will be as well.
Now that everyone’s in the same area from lvl 1 to 50, won’t it make leveling, literal hell for lower levels?
Imagine being in Vale for example as a lvl 10, and then a lvl 46 guy also being there.
You could use them for transmog then sell them on at a profit. It’s like learning a mount then selling it on the AH.
Preaching to the choir here…if only because of the beautiful and ornate Pandaren starting gear that sadly never gets to shine.
