Why can't we do Mythic+ from previous expansions?

There’s literally no downside to it. Let us do Mythic+ at level 60 that is scaled to Shadowlands. Since it’s arrival in Legion, M+ dungeons have been quite a staple for gearing and with Shadowlands having only 8 dungeons, they can get boring quickly. If the game keeps expanding upon and not just replacing the old 8 dungeons with new 8 dungeons, it might actually have more replayability, and I know that you might say “oh but Legion dungeons were made with you having Artifact Powers in mind” to which yeah sure, but a few balance tweaks and it should be fine. And if having too many dungeons is an issue, maybe keep current expansion dungeons and rotate old expansion’s M+ monthly or seasonally. Just some thoughts, that I would like to discuss here.

I agree ! They should add one legion and one bfa dungeon as seasonal dungeons with SL ones.

Yeah, we all love playing old expansions again

I wouldnt mind. But given the balance about artifacts (and also classes being different etc) point i would say just scale them but remove the loot. Create a seperate key. So if people wanna run it for fun then why not. Or create some cosmetic reward for it

That is a good idea actually. They introduced scaling themselves so I don’t see why not. The only reason they could use is: It’s old content. But I can see people approving this idea because some people like some old dungeon designs and fight more than some current dungeons. The achievements like Keystone master should stay the same for the current content requirement.

The answer is simple. Blizzard devs haven’t figured it out yet what a brilliant idea it is.

Indeed it is, not only they reuse old content, but it adds more variety.

One word : Balancing.

At least it would be my guess as to why they don’t do something like that.

Nah,only m0 would had to be numerically sorted , modifiers for keys are flat

Because they’d have to rebalance based on the changed abilities / lack of corruptions / difference in legendaries etc which they were balanced around.

Have you thought about what having older instances in the M+ pool mean to loot, and the great vault? That you’d have even less chance to get the item you want?

No, thanks.

Besides, people ran those instances over and over again when they were current. I haven’t been around in Legion, but I’m sure as hell glad I do not need to run BfA dungeons anymore (even though I did like many of them).

Agreed. I would like it.

M0 or M20 it’s the same, some dungeons might need tuning, SD just got nerfed like 3 days ago for instance.

Just like they have to re-tune SL dungeons for season 2 gear :man_shrugging:

You tell me my guess is wrong then say the same and shrug? Really confused right now…

They don’t want to spread resources to balance old content.

That’d require reworking the way keys work, as well as making modifications to the score system. I don’t want to re-farm dungeons from the last 3 expansions every season for IO, and I don’t want to get Tol Dagor keys when I am trying to get Mists to finish off keystone master.

Targetting gearpieces in the vault would become a mess too with this large of an item pool, as I think someone earlier in the thread has mentioned. Can you imagine needing a Legion trinket 2 expansions later to be competitive? Sounds like a meme.

Old expansion m+ isn’t impossible, but it’s more work than you all are making it sound like. I’d rather if they gave us good current content instead of focusing on that.

How exactly are you targeting gearpiece in vault ?

If you need some specific stuff, you can do the 10 dungeons a week and hope it’ll drop. Not that massive of a chance, but not outright impossible. With Legion ams BfA m+ loot tables in the vault? There’s no way you could do that.

It can be compensated with fourth choice in vault :stuck_out_tongue:
