Yes, I understand you don’t want bad links on your forums. BUT you sure make it harder for us all to set up discords and communities with no link policy on your forums. I also see a lot of posts getting around that, so why implement it?
Agreed. While i too, understand that Blizzard does’nt want us to post in-appropiate links, in some cases, it can be very handy to implement a link. (or at least being able to). Let’s say someone is looking for an item. They can just post the wowhead link to it. If someone is looking for a guide, they just post the link to a guide. Or if someone is looking for a guild to join that also has a website… they can post the link.
All in all, i think it’s better being able to post links.
(at least in some cases like i mentioned above)
We can’t all have nice things because most of us are spiteful idiots who would most likely abuse that. Can you imagine some people turning their posts into links. LOL that would be the forums ruined.
You can use the </> to make text pre formatted so people can copy paste your links and you don’t need to add spaces and such. It’s not brilliant but it’s a work around.
I think the thought process behind it is to simply stop dodgy links and they believe that most people would only need to post WoW related links that are on the trusted list like wowhead and blizzard sites.
