Why cant you use illusions with Artifacts?

So many great looking Artifact, So many cool illusions, can be the perfect combo but… eh no

Did they said something about this why you cant use it with Artifacts ?

i do question this tbh… i would like it but im guessing its because artifact weapons had a special look about them, even the basic ones

It’s not just Artifacts, there are a few older weapon models that don’t allow enchants.

I’m assuming it’s a technical limit, their files must be set up to allow for one enchant on a weapon, and some have one locked to the base item.

because artifacts are unique and have their own glows already.

Fairly sure the artifacts aren’t coded as weapons and exist in their own bubble.

That’s why you can have floating orbs, librams quivers ect… And their own illusions rather than the tmog ones

This was explained by Ion a long time ago in Legion, it’s a game limitation. You can’t put cosmetic enchants on artifact weapons because the slot goes into is already used by blizzard for extra cosmetic effects on the artifact weapons itself. Only way to free up the slot is transmog out of the artifact weapon skin as it and the extra cosmetic effect are permanently linked.
