Why classic hardcore is getting popular

It focuses on the real fun thing that hooked us all to wow : good solo experience where you need to survive in an actual dangerous world
We did wrath before and in retail , there’s only so much raiding and m+ you can do before you get bored out of your mind
I wish there was a good solo experience in wow retail
dragonflight world content is too easy to even consider doing , and it feels pointless

hardcore is better that dragonflight … back then world of warcraft have world and every zone live by it self … dragonflight zones is just placeholder for player to use new flying and there are nothing to do .

Last decent leveling experience was in Legion. I mean, it was actually pretty hard at the beginning in the expansion ( 100-110 I mean ).

But then came BfA, then Shadowlands … and then the flower power Dragonflight expansion, lol.

DF feels like a HUB game.

You have all the tools you need to make this game as easy or as hard as you like. All you have to do is be a little more creative. And Classic was never hard, it was just a grind.

Lol. Let me guess…run naked? That’s not game play. That’s not level experience.

And yes, Vanilla WAS hard and grindy.

M+ bores you yet somehow waddling across a continent doing tiny pulls with a one button rotation is peak gameplay.

Not sure I understand the run naked thing, but hey if that’s what gets your motor running then go for it. The game is such a vast and large expanse and cus of retail gives you access to the full catalogue. For those of us that play the game each day across its full breath we can create our own rules and challenges and then set too trying to achieve those ambitions. Just start a character, give them a back story, limit what they can and cannot do, set perameters of activity like say not being able to use a flying mount or even a ground mount and then roll with it. See how far you get and how challenging that is. My character here is level 70 and has never done a single quest.

After all its just a game. Do with it what you want. I do. Always have done.

Classic wasn’t hard it was a grind levelling. The challenges were not complex but the execution sometimes took a little thinking through. All that meant was a time cost in doing stuff cus you could almost guarantee just as you cleared the area and the cabin ready to take the main boss, some paladin would rush in and rob you of the kill and you would have to wait. I can recall spending night after night camped in places working through stuff and what with the mana drinking nonsense and long cool downs on mobs I would spend more time sitting around than actually doing anything.

Crafting was very important to me and so my path thro classic followed the cloth and that meant some of the most busy areas in the game being farmed day and through the night. It didn’t get any easier with TBC or Lich . But as to being hard… it was never hard sunshine. Compared to most other games I’ve played in my life I wouldn’t class any form of Warcraft as hard. Fun all the same. A game of levelling, its the only way I’ve played the game. No XP bar no game, start over.

As to that other comment about RPG pillars from that other guy below your posted reply I just burst into hysterics. Like as if there are any rules about how to play the game when it comes to RPG. I play my game. I only play my game. My game, my rules. Tis the only way to play ifyou wanna have fun every day. You have this massive World of Warcraft so just have fun with it. It’s not hard. … So funny.

PS I only play on my own. I’m hardcore solo. Always have been. That’s why I play an MMOspRPG game. Cus I can.

PPS Bart Simpson playing a computer golf game is on the green just a few feet from the hole and is advised by the computer in the game which putter to use. So Bart pulls out a wood and blasts the ball into the car park. The scene ends with Bart rolling around in a laughing fit. That’s how I play the game.

MMORPGS are not about gameplay.

Please don’t quote me just to post stupid.

i have been saying this for years,
this game is not an MMO anymore

nothing MMO about it, leveling is trivial and the experience in the world zones is rushed to max level where you wait for " instanced" gameplay

its more like a MOBA

yep yep. There’s zero player interaction. Zero world immersion. Even gear progression become worthless. This is no longer a mmorpg, this is a moba game.

I am confused, what is this all about?
Are they doing a harder fresh version of the classic era?
Or is it some player initiative like the Ironman challenge?

It’s more like a theme park MMO but yes also like a moba you want a real fun hardcore rpg experience play Gothic games.

Moba

multiplayer online battle arena

( instanced endgame content in a set map ir Dungeon, Raid, Arena )

100% a MOBA

Definitely not.
That might be the case for you, but that was not AT ALL what got me into WoW.

There IS. The only thing as far as I’m concerned is that there isn’t a proper solo endgame for world content.

I disagree completely. The difficulty is fine.

After you get renown maxed it IS pointless. It needs a proper progression reward to keep the content relevant for those who want to run it.

You guys just love to pull mobs 1 by 1 spamming 1 button. Fair enough!
