Why did they kill windfury weapon?

Windfury weapon used to be awesome, you would notice when it procked, it used to do actual damage. In wrath (most of my wow experience) it was in the top 5 damaging abilities in an enhance shamans logs, now it’s one of the lowest. Hell if it procked every attack it would still do less than flame toung weapon! I know they tripped it’s damage on the beta but 3 x almost nothing is still almost nothing.
It used to be two full weapon swings with EXTRA attack power, why did they change it to be a tiny portion of attack power? To make it scale with attack power? Because it already did that, because weapon swings scale with attack power, that’s the point of attack power.
Windfury weapon attacks need to at least be 2 extra melee swings, the whole point of windfury weapon is that it gives you extra weapon swings.

And make storm strike swing 2h weapons! Why would you remove that???

i think WF has recieved a Huge buff recently… but its not on live currently… so i think they have buffed it… by the looks into one of Tiqqles videos it Was doing stupidly high damage and was even his highest damage in breakdowns.

so i wouldnt worry too much xD WF Damage has returned but the changes havent gone live, only on PTR Currently.

The simple answer to that is that Blizzard doesn’t like fun things, is bad at balancing and doesn’t really listen to its community.

Either way, like Spooki said, it received a buff on the beta. It’s still nowhere near what it was before, but at least it’s something.

its doing over 30% of the Shamans Damage on beta if u combine it with the Legendary.

its striking 500-600 Damage a Windfury Proc… with the ability to proc multiple times, it wont 1 hit someone like old 2handed Enhancement… but its Defintly pushing a fair bit of damage

That’s the thing: “if you combine it with the Legendary”.
It just bring us to the main problem with World of Warcraft at the moment: borrowed power. Classes and specs should be complete by themselves, not depend on borrowed power to feel whole. Legendaries should expand on a complete, solid spec, not fix its issues.
Just like now, as soon as that borrowed power goes away, you’ll be left with a spec that feels wonky and all of a sudden all the tuning is out of whack.

The new Enhancement changes are a step in the right direction, but I don’t think the spec is complete at all. Just the fact that they didn’t even touch one of the main spec’s problem, its survivabilty, and are yet do deliver on their promise to make the wolves better, just tells me that we’ll still be left incomplete.
They might tune some numbers and whatnot, but I’m almost 100% sure they won’t touch Enhancement’s real problems.

Normally, the way you would compensate something with low survivability is with high damage, so far Enhancement doesn’t have the damage to justify its squishiness and lack of defensives.

I’ll have to second that. I know this sounds absurd but I have been playing elemental with a staff instead of a 1h+shield just because I insist in transmogging it to a 2h mace. Probably will still play elemental instead of enhancement for this reason alone even though it may seem stupid -.-

I personally find that play styles around longer cooldowns are a bit lackluster. At the end of the day that legendary offers a 12 second effect on a 1 minute cooldown. I would rather have WF procs more reliably available and contributing to the specs dps outside of using that legendary.

dunno i kinda like enhancements CD Management instead of Consistent really… i think its a cool concept and one thats now rather unique to other choices .

While i do prefer 2handed… it was never really a Real build… it was a RNG Meme build in PvP… it’d take alot for blizz to actually flesh that out into a proper specc… nor do i think they want to sadly.

Because they never mind of people opinions. 1-2 post wont make the difference.
The most recent example is with priest’s voidform. If you had noticed people aggressively created again and again the same topic with #removevoidform tag. Someday they noticed…
It is nice they rolled back the maelstrom changes for shaman. In my opinion we still have alot of pointless buttons. I mean. Lavalash crits for nothing… Why stormstrike wouldnt hit for more, lets say like mortal strike…? While it hits for less it also has a chance to reset the cd which in the end it makes sense for pve but for pvp i cannot stick onto someone to just get the full out of SS. Wolfs are so weak that i literally forget to summon them…

Thats all. A bunch of mediocre abilities that i have to spam in an intensive tempo.

As for defences. We had shamanistic rage to get mana back and survive. Now all we have is mana issues. Grounding totem should be baseline as well. What kind of totem master am i if i need talents to obtain the basics? Where are our fire totems?

Also WHO had the brilliant idea to remove the lightning effect and burst from Ascendance? Do you even notice it now??? That godly moment that made me feel that i could even turn things around all the way…

Also windfury animation is unnoticeable now as the damage indeed.

I will not write for 2H. It’s just a dream that will never become true… Even if i ve created topic to explain easy solutions…

And now tell me. Who from blizzard is gonna read my post and fix those issues and bring back some of the fantasy that the class had in the past? :slight_smile:

Friends! do not fear, WF with the legendary is insane currently, its doing huge damage on only a 1 min CD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9AjzRhsKsg I manage to get a double 10k crit here, it obliterates people in PVP, I have a loads of clips, will mash them together at some point. I’m sure the leggo will receive a nerf.

Even still they recently tripled the base damage of WF weapon, it does about 450 dmg per hit, up to over 2k with 5x forceful winds (which tbf is rarely reached) add onto that the Unruly winds conduit there’s the potential for a single wf proc to hit for 3x 4-5k dmg without the legendary. So as long as they don’t nerf the base dmg, it will be good when it goes live

I didn’t read all the notes, did the classes doing top damage on beta got nerfed at all too or are they just nerfing the ones that are already nerfed? 15 years of balancing with the same formula, buff the already performing better and nerf the already performing poorly.

God dammit…

tbh someone linked a Damage sheet after nerf… and it was still doing 30% of their overall Damage… its not dead just isnt as broken.

Enhancement was Busted AF lmfao, the buff became sooo strong it had to be reduced by a margin xD

What about the other classes that are also busted AF and don’t get nerfed, you know the usual suspects… That’s what annoys me, the endless amount of times during WoW’s lifespan in which they have nerfed the weak and buffed the strong is mind blowing.

i find it annoying some are allowed to be overpowered others get fixed Super fast…
