Title really says it all. The Nightelfs have a settlement in the Wetlands i’d assume they would prefer to be among their own kin rather than camping on the streets of SW
Stormwind is still locked in the 8.0 phase: Teldrassil is just destroyed, and the Night Elves just need a place to stay before either reclaiming their homeland or finding a new place.
I don’t really think that the Wetlands is suitable for the Elves. Sure there is a Night Elf settlement there, but they have no relation with the land there at all. The Hinterlands or even Duskwood makes more sense, with those portals that lead to the Emerald Dream.
Why? To prove that they are pushovers? To now look for a new homeland would only make the Alliance look even more pathetic than it already is.
They should wait until their homelands are free from foreign invaders or die trying to reclaim it.
“You guys lost your ancient enchanted forest? Well sucks to be you. Here, have a new homeland in this damp, stinking swamp. Just watch out for the mosquitoes”.
Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if Blizzard gave nelfs such treatment. Being a Night Elf is suffering.
Because Night Elves are Blizzard’s punching bag.
Pretty much, if the Night Elves were actually competent then they wouldn’t be in this situation.
Sending the majority of your army including your elite soldiers away on boats to Silithus when the Horde has a massive army in Northern Barrens… Don’t make me laugh…
Why would they? Kalimdor is their home. They still control parts of it.
They got their home back anyway.
Obligatory Alliance is winning on all fronts bla bla bla…
Why the wetlands instead of Duskwood? It fits them thematically speaking.
But I agree that moving the Night elves out of Kalimdor is rather silly. They control certain parts of Kalimdor, and they could move to either Hyjal, or towards a more isolated places like Feralas.
Realistically speaking, it’s likely that they scattered all over the place.
I’d like to see some move to Duskwood eventually, though. That village by the portal needs to have a population added to it.
Same reason why the Blood Elves did not leave Quel’thalas after Arthas ravaged it. It is their home, and they are fighting back to reclaim it. I never really understood that logic behind posters…Oh look there is a forest there why not move? You never see posts like that related to where the Forsaken should move to.
Words are cheap Ion!
It is! I didn’t stick with a DK as the class for nothing.
More vengeance is needed for Teldrassil…some lazored Hordies don’t come close to the losses of a capital and the civilians murdered.
Whats that? they got teldrassil back? thats amazing when did this happen
About 1398475 random story thread says so and I don’t really bother with Night Elves. Maybe ask their 193853847 fans about it.
It was not such a bad idea. They controlled the Mor’shan ramparts, which should have been able to hold back the Horde army, or at least warn Teldrassil long before the Horde could enroach on Astranaar. Sadly, Sylvanas’ reality-suspending plot armor kicked in, and everyone in the Ramparts got killed by literally two rogues, with none of them being able to send a warning.
Mount Hyjal or Feralas would be better place to stay …
The wetlands is a DRUID cenarion circle operation, not a night elf nation one.
The Night elves arent the Cenarion circle. I guess classic to wotlk only seeing night elves as druids outside their lands. Makes many people assume druid stuff is The Darnassians and they are interchangeable they arent
Well, it is. Moving you elite forces as well as the bulk south on ships before the Horde even left Northern Barrens is stupid as.
Just think about the time it would take to load up the transports and get to a point where they couldn’t come back in time, the Horde army would have still been in Durotar at that point most likely massing.
And ye, they also control both choke points coming into Ashenvale. What idiot doesn’t heavily garrison them to prevent a Horde invasion which could happen. It doesn’t matter if you are convinced that the Horde army is going to Silithus you have plenty of time to move your forces out after the Horde army has committed to going down south, most likely when they are transporting their entire army across some wooden bridges in Thousand Needles. Not to mention the whole point of Feathermoon is to halt an advance… I am ranting again xd.
Because it’s a soggy swamp that probably stinks of piss
To elaborate; not really fitting for a race such as the night elves
