Why do Blizzard keep giving me 2h Intellect items?

The idea of smashing a 2h mace around while flinging the holy light is peak paladin class fantasy, and Blizzard keep teasing it. (Tyr’s Hand weapon from the Dawn of the Infinites and now the catchup mace from pre-patch event)

Yay, an upgrade for my returning alt… I equip it, yet can’t use my damage ability, Shield of the Righteous…

Can we not just rename paladins’ shield of the righteous to something that doesn’t require a shield and give them the opportunity to go both ways? Our legion artifact isn’t even a shield for crying out loud, Blizz.

SotR being available for both Ret and Holy is a bit wierd and its annoying its not more usable than it is currently. for Holy i think Id typically use a shield for the extra armour anyway, but I dont think its unreasonable to have it change to a straight damage dealing attack if you use a 2hander instead.

But Ret i’d love a bit of an overhaul to allow 1hander+shield to actually be possible (mostly for things like questing) but also for the RP of it.

There was a meme build with 1 hander ret, justicar’s not needing a two hander and you’d have that, divine hammer and the rest, minus blade of justice useable.

now with the new divine hammer, its doable but ull have only 3 spells

Since Shield of the Righteous doesn’t give any armor to Holy Paladins, I think it makes no difference if the Holy Power spender is Shield of The Righteous or any other spender usable with a 2-hander (keeping the same damage ratio of course).

I think behind the scenes there are arguments to be made about things like block chance, autoattack damage, etc. which could shift the balance in one direction or another.

Nah, SotR is a must for holy, it is large amount of our total damage. What damage hpower spender can you press when wielding 2h weapon?

They are asking to change the hopo spender into an ability usable with 1h+shield and 2h.

I agree with this as it means the 2h int weapons are not wasted when we loot them. i also want to use other 2h weapon mogs other than my legion artifact.

There are druids, paladins, shamans and evokers iirc who can use 2h maces so it would be nice to see more of this weapon type with int and have all abilities we use be usable with them.
