Why do certain classes have target cap and others don't?

Then make a thread and whine about fire mages.
Then watch all the mages get triggered and pretend their class is so bad and they lack so many tools, just like you do when you see a thread about retri palas.

Don’t back out like this, you stated that classes have strengths and weaknesses.
So you were talking crap without anything to back it up? Is that what you’re saying?

I stated exactly the strengths and weaknesses.
All i see from you as that you don’t know how stuff actually works.
Maybe learn more about classes before acting like you know what you’re talking about.

I also stated

Yeah welcome to the wow forum, where the most clueless people think nobody else knows how stuff works.

balance druids bro

Maybe if you actually followed the thread from the start you’d know why those things were mentioned for fire mages.

It started here, so others answered that they have good mobility.

What you stated that classes have weaknesses and strengths doesn’t seem to apply to fire mages no?
If they have uncapped aoe why are they good on the capped number of mobs as well? Seems fair?

Seriously is it that hard understand that if tomorrow fire mage gets nuked from orbit, you will still continue to whine about the next best class/spec with uncapped aoe?

This line of thinking means that everything should be left as is always, because… there’s always the next runner up!

The line of thinking would be to stick with the original topic, which is uncapped aoe vs capped aoe, fire mage is just an example.

And others would be Boomkins and Unholy DK’s… and what do you know, they’ve got uncapped aoe too!
And the next part, their damage is high in 5-8 targets as well.

So what was the point of capping some classes and others no?

To create strengths and weaknesses, more niche situations where some classes can shine. Classes/specs with capped aoe should have better cleave, being preferable for fights with 3 mobs for example.

Well it doesn’t seem to be working like that, uncapped aoe classes seem to do great with a lower amount of mobs as well.

Because they didn’t put a lot of thought behind aoe cap, that’s why it’s even worse than capping everyone (which would be still horrible). Right now all they achieved is making the m+ meta worse. Uncapped? Part of the meta, gets priority in invites. Capped? Enjoy the game with those groups who don’t care about performance, but most likely 8 out of 10 groups with leaders like that will still invite uncapped dps specs over capped ones.

So they could either cap everyone and make everyone suffer, or uncap everyone, and allow people to just enjoy pulling a lot of weak trash mobs and burst them down. I wonder which would make more sense…
