I guess I’ve always belonged to forums relating to games I play, right back to the late 1990s and Caesar 3 Heaven. They’re a place not just to discuss the games but also to get to know other players out of game. I usually disagree with what a lot of people post but it’s good, occasionally, when you find like-minded people.

The forums can be a good place to find helpful tips, it’s more active than most realms and sometimes it’s really funny to read.
I don’t like the forum pvp, makes me sad but then I know people won’t all agree with everyone and that’s what makes it interesting!
I’m often hopeful that even the smallest player voice can make the game a better place to be.

Its a place to shout at the sky, as the developers won’t read a jot of it anyway. A way to vent frustration at just how bad a game once loved has become. Having not played “properly” since MOP, I come back every few years to see if they have “fixed” it, but alas it gets worse and worse. Hence I take to the forums to complain until the sub runs out. This time the sub runs out in a couple of weeks, my shortest time ever for re-subbing.
I guess I’ll be back here complaining when I’m foolish enough to part with money for the next xpac they bring out. However I will be waiting until at least a year into it again given all the time gating they have now introduced, at least you can avoid time gates if not the grind by doing that.
After all these years, i still find it weird to see empty chats, either in the open world or in cities.
Its been getting worse, i know, more and more silent, barelly anyone talks.
Sometimes i type random stuff, just to try and start a conversation, not necessarily with me.
It works better when a expansion is fresh, the first 2 months.
In the forums, its the oposite, people usually talk, socialise, wich is basic human nature.
I miss that in game to be honest.

I spend less time than I used to reading the forums, also at the same time I’m spending less time in game and when I am in game I’m doing less stuff.
It gets boring to watch when it becomes the same people entering into forum PvP.

I have an other app where its basically just A LOT of kids younger then me and it’s really easy pissing them off and/or arguing with them cause well, they aren’t the most clever ones lmao
But here most people are adults which I’m not so I’m stepping up the game being here pahah

Well the same reason many others do to socialize because barely anyone talks in the game sadly.
And yes its a kind of a cult here that developed over time and I’m happy I’m part of it.
Third reason well it gives me something interesting to read at work or at home.

I like talking to people 
Internet forums are a purely social place where all you can do is talk to others. A bit like being in a tavern, but without the drinks. So in that purely social way, for some people it can be an even better place to have fun and make merry than the games themselves!

I enjoy the forums (most of the time), it’s fun to interact with others.
I’ve made some great friends via the forums. We have the regulars and we have people who come to seek some information, give feedback or complain about a feature.
