So look at gaming sites , youtubers even streamers , thousand videos made about the new tmog set. How Blizz is showing their " greed" how it’s clearly indicative of Activision’s tentacles wrapping around the oh so honest Blizzard.
Guys … it’s 1 set.
Look at ff14’s , that a sub based game there is litteral hundreds of in game shop items. Why isn’t the press calling them out on that ?
Eso , sub is optional , they have mounts on there are so time limited , that’s really pushing people to pay up again … no one talk about that
Blizz put a pet up on the store and it’s a clear indication how south the gaming industry has become Oo like how do we jump to those conclusions and ignore the competition.

Simple FFXIV Store nearly most of the mounts/ cosmetics where obtainable ingame by ingame events…
Compared to WoW which has never been Square Enix gave players a chance to obtain ingame when that runs out then you can buy for it if you want. Like they did a awsome Car Mount last year i think which was obtainable ingame through a week or so event.
Compared to Blizzard they rather you pay for it with £££ then do a ingame event to obtain these then charge later. Guess they got different morals?

So that’s your justification ?
Why didn’t they just leave in game ?
Because you cannot get those items without spending real money in wow?

Why should they? its a special event to get people to do stuff ingame together and rewarded with bril mounts and costumes? once that ends if i want to get item i’ll pay for it bit of money goes to them.
Its all about opportunity blizzard does not give you one they want you to fork out £££ to there game that has not been improved on for awhile and there ingame events have not changed in years… its all about milking the player base from the tit.
If Blizzard did special ingame events to gain limited mounts/costumes etc then put them on the store couple months later then i’d have no problem that is what Square Enix does btw.

But that’s a complete lie , i’ve bought all the store stuff with in game gold. Never spent a single euro on those mounts or pets. Those Store items can be obtained in game by playing the game.

First of all, WoW is the most popular MMO on the market, hence you will get more people voicing their opinions about the matter.
Secondly, just because other companies do this, doesn’t mean it’s something that’s fine to do.
Thirdly, just because someone else stayed silent, doesn’t mean that I have to stay silent as well.

By grinding gold and not a special ingame event? your ideal of playing a game is well suited in china

who said i grinded it , i just play the game , herb here and there , skin and mine , kill stuff and loot , vendor. That’s how i obtain my gold.
You lie you just buy some one 20 euro. So it is not avaible to buy in game if no one will sell tokens.

+1 Some people can’t think for a change what would be more fun doing a ingame event that is special for cosmetics and mounts or “grind” , pay £££
I gave you a reason why press not dishing on Square its because they offer it fair to players to give them a chance to obtain it while Blizzard want money straight up from you.
As for Zenimax ESO not really played the game so not sure there monetization is but since it is a F2P game with paid expansions i’d expect they need to make there income from something which would be the Crown Store.
And Blizzard perception of gaming industry going south is probably Bobby Kotic opinion of milking all gamers for there wallets.
MULTIBILLION DOLLAR COMPANY BTW
As i’ve said in another thread , i would love it if we got smaller content patches between bigger one’s.
Blizz only seem to release raids which is cool if you like to raid but over the years i don’t. Like many i speak to we did all that for years back in the past. Haven’t got time to do it anymore.
Yes M+ is great but love some story arches , something else than an instance.
Yeah but using a token means that someone payed real money for it, so it means that Blizzard is earning money, so it incentivises Blizzard to add more stuff to the store and not to the game itself.

I buy token for 20 euro and then I’m selling it to you for 200k gold. and you change it to 13 euro. So you are gettign realm money from me and even you lsot 7 euro in this deal.
buy to play + subscription. We pay sub so there is no cash shop. Thats how its always been, but they just pushing further and further. All dirty tricks to earn more, for purpose made racial disbalance, multiboxing and blizz made for them good life here, ( 3 party software, herb/ore spawns changed so each multiboxer can loot herb/ore) and so on. Gold, level boosts were added step by step, they testing waters. Next will be bag space, auto loot pet and so on.

ESO is free to play and the sub fee actually gives you it’s value worth in currency to spend in the game store.

But that is … all …OPTIONAL
You don’t have to spend a dime on it.
When i decided to change servers i just leveled a new toon. If you spend 60 euro on a boost it means your lazy and you are willing to spend that 60 euro privilege to be lazy.
Same with store items , it’s not pay to win in any fashion and can be easily ignored.

WoW isn’t b2play - actually its F2play with tokens. Its a b2win also with that boosts allowed by gold - by gold with token by $ and get want you want - mount, achi, gear, almost everything. Plus devs want more - they want milk community with overpriced shop stuff, thats all.
