Why do M+ group finder join requests get declined?

Thats great, as long as it runs alongside the normal LFG thats fine. Then people can choose. Would be interesting to see which one ends up unused.

I mean you can easily just have a hard-coded “if condition” in the code, where it ensures the comps are alright at least. Not meta, but just alright.

It only happens on really low key when they actually can do that. Or happens more often than on higher keys. I, myself, have other preferences than just ilvl, since ilvl doesn’t mean that much ATM

Wont even get into whats wrong with that problem and there are posts already where people are argumenting in detail on how it wont work.

Also.

Ok. Counter question then? Why is the 1k casual gamer suddently owed an invite and has some “claim” on my key? And people who share similiar thoughts as you, call US “entitled&elitist”.

I think the entire idea of M+, where it’s “your key and your risk” is flawed anyway. Makes no sense, and I would never make a game like this. Again, system is toxic. It’s not about “elitist”. It’s just a snowballing system, where you get all invites, if you get ahead early, and else you sit in LFG.

I’m obviously not an expert in this, but as a pug I think I’d prefer something simple like:

  1. You get into M+ via an automatic matchmaker without any preapproval
  2. Remove keys as items, replace them with difficulty tier
  3. When queueing, you’re choosing the tier you want to go for which cannot be higher than +1 of what you’ve already done, and everyone starts at 0
  4. Teleport into the dungeon and back to your original location like normal Dungeon Finder
  5. Premades are still there for high tiers where composition matters or for whoever doesn’t like the matchmaker

I think this should satisfy both players who just want to run lower tiers for gear and fun without any gatekeeping, and the high tier runners who can still rely on premades.

I prefer your version to the current one.

Makes perfet sense and the keys are available to everyone who wants them. If only a select few would have keys and they could play God with them then sure, your arguments could have merit. But everyone can just go to the m+ panda girl and she will even give you a +2 to start off with so you don’t even have to do an m0 for a key.

I started my pally tank maybe 3 days ago after using the pre-order boost with ilevel 424. While 424 is enough for +2-+5 range, I was fully aware that EVEN as a tank, a pug wont look at me cause he will think me as as a greeny and completely newb. So I started with the +2 BRH I got from the panda girl and there where already 10+ applicants signing up…yeah. For a lousy +2. Go figure. I am currently at 13-15 range as I said before and all done by my own keys.
So if I can do it, why the complainers here cant do it?

I’m 2.5k, so I can, but the system is trash regardless. Hope blizz checks my retail account, when reading my feedback. I experienced the exact problem in the past, and I’m seeing it myself now in many keys. It’s just an awful way to make matchmaking. I don’t even view it as acceptable. It’s just straight up terrible.

How can you play a Specc that’s pretty much an insta invite and still act like you’re having it that hard, nowonder you’re playing BM!

Every system which will require some kind of an effort from the player will be “trash”. Heck the word “effort” itself causes an “omgEZ u elitist!” hysteria in some. Nobody wants to progress and climb the ladder. ALso attacking anyone who has done so as being “evil gatekeepers”. Some people think that they are 441 from last season so they should get an +20 invite pronto and you are a “toxec eLitisT” if you disagree.

What do you mean even? Should someone sit 20-30+ minutes in a LFG tab and click through expiring applications to do content at their progression level? This is especially very bad and a no-go for a player, who is casual. It’s far from acceptable. As said, not about elitism, because I don’t blame the players. I blame blizzard for their bad system.

But of course. Sitting in queue is the only and I repeat only way to do m+ these days.
Ok. Now. let me think… hmm. I know.
Ok. I will muster all my strenght and and will say: Use your own key! Join community! Make contacts and friends!.
You know…do the most…dispicable…atrocious…sinfull thing you can possibly do in an MMO game. I hope I wont even get forum banned for suggesting this but ok, I will risk it.
“Socialize!”.

Dang. I am such a bad boy :imp:

Edit: but Like I said before. These suggestions also require “effort” from the player so…guess they are “trash” as well then?

I do, and now what? I do. My complaint is not about me, but I’ve also been there. Some people just wanna log on in the evening and play wow, then go back to their wife. They don’t wanna deal with communities, friends, etc. in a video game. Some might simply be introverted or have social anxiety. Lots of things people forget and why a queue system should be a thing for lower keys up to roughly 18 maybe.

Then you have “been there” and finaly understood the value of my previously mentioned suggestions. Heck I cant even claim copyright on that. Those suggestions have been suggested way before already.
So why not spend your energy and explain to the other complainers that “sitting in LFG” is NOT the only way to play M+ since appearently they are so tunnel vissioning it.

Edit:

Yes yes yes. You guys always have your 101 excuses book ready once this gets suggested. First setting up your own key and inviting 4 people. We are not asking them to organize a raid with 40 people. Make friends or join communities/guilds? Just go to their channel and write LFM for WM10, need all. THATS IT. Nobody is asking them to date somebody or invite the people over for dinner at their house.

If anything one of the long term side-effects of LFG/LFR are people getting used pampering and daddy Blizzard always taking care of everything for you. I am sure after the system gets implanted, people will complain that they can’t make coffee mid 20-25 m+ run. Not to worry, daddy-Blizzard is here once again, will automate your character so you can go make your coffee. Cant have you getting thirsty now, can we?

Still there with my Buddy and it really isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. :man_shrugging:

Even when i’m queing up alone, it’s like 5-6 Applications at worst till an invite comes around.

Correct me if it’s just me feeling that way, but from all the M+ posts if have seen on the Forums so far, but it always feels like it’s them just wanting free hand outs like “Ohh i’m paying for this game, how dare someone else not invite me, even tho i’m fully undergeared for what i applied to”, while it feels like there is only a very, very small group of people who are genuinly just annoyed by the fact the have done Keys at a higher level and are still declined left, right and center.

This is how it works. (The deeper down the list the more important)

How to get invites:

  1. Have a higher score than its required
  2. Have a higher ilvl than required
  3. Play a tank or a healer

And the most important
→ Play what is meta

People will allways take whats easier.

If you q under 12:

  1. Have a higher ilvl than required
  2. Play a tank or a healer

Create your own group if you want reasonable times, you will see that you will also go after higher itemlvls and tanks and heals

This drama always repeats itself almost every m+ season…especially the start. Any m+ runner worth its salt starts with his key, starts low if needed and moves up. And then we got folks who applied for a random 18, got declined, threw a tantrum and ran to the forums to demand “Blizzard to fix this”.

Worst part is, the second you just suggest to “play your own keys” they come up with “But i always get the same key” like it’s THE counter argument and litteraly 5 minutes later you find them in another post complaining how they never get the loot they want, weird isn’t it.

TBF… getting loot at all would be nice.
