Does anyone have any info on this? I’ve noticed a few times now that WQ’s like Chosen Champions, have the mobs turn grey when tagged by people from your own faction. Why does that happen? It’s hard enough to do this on a realm where your faction is a minority without this.
And yes i’m absolutely sure it happens when my own faction tags the mobs just before me. Is it because they might be a group or something?
They should make it like it was in the first 10+ years of the game - you hit it first, it’s yours. Final.
Also, this is how you can spot old WoW players - when you’re doing a World quest, they spam you with party invitations for ask for an invite
They are in a party
There is a limit of five (I believe) tags before it goes grey.
1 tag from opposite faction.
5 tags from your own.
Also I believe the tag counts for everyone in your group. So 1 person in a 5 man group tagging a mob turns it grey.
Thanks for the answers!
Any idea why they implemented a feature like this?
I play on a realm, which at the moment is dominated by the opposite faction. So tagging is quite hard already and finding groups is a bit of problem for my low ilvl alts.
40 tags if 40 people in a raid
They want to avoid huge raids killing armies of mobs for gold farming.
Thus why you used to see (or unfortunately still seldom see) groups of 8 druid players spam instant spells continuously in some zone with low repop rate.
(8 because the way it work is the following: up to 5 players can tag a same mob and get benefit. if the fifth player is in a party then all party members get credit as well, pushing the limit to 9. But it’s easier for 2 parties of 4 as you will make sure everytime everyone will always get benefit)
5 people on the same mob=grey I think?
Another question is, why do grey mobs attack me despite having half their hpbar gone?
Why dont they turn RED once the people that tagged them ran away too far? Im getting tired of this.
