Why do streamers call themselves content creators?

Streamers create videos aka content, so they are content creators.

Lmfao WHAT? A business owner creates jobs and people fill the positions required.

Its a hell of a lot of work to run a businesss.

Abolish the bosses, collectivise ownership, democratise leadership.

The vast majority of streamers do not only stream but they create content on other platforms that brings in viewers to their stream, since twitch is not a very good place for being discovered if you are a smaller channel. So they mostly create YT content on top of streaming, patreon stuff, etc…Giving commentary on someone else’s content is content too, especially if the commentary or opinions are by someone who is knowledgeable on the topic. Reuploading / restreaming someone else’s content - not good, ur gonna get banned. Restreaming / Reuploading with your own input or commentary - is transformative content and fair use of the source material.

Haven’t been subbed to a “Streamer” for so long I had to google what it ment.

Ah, ok. I don’t know

think only good one are hazel and annie

Did he start making reactions videos about himself reacting to himself watching himself react to himself ?
Pretty sure there’s people who’d enjoy that.

Ah yes, the great questions and problems of the 21st century, like “Why do we eat if still get hungry later on?”
LUL

You can’t get hungry, earth is a donut.

Common misconception of the words/phrase , Content creator means he creates his own youtube videos(as in editing and creating them he is the protagonist) , not the game it’s self .

If a specific streamer says he actually creates wow content that’s on an entire new lvl of self-absorbed .
Pretty sure it’s just food for the un-educated poor souls .

There is a Southparkepisode about Gaming-Streamers, where Ike and his friends get hooked on it.

What I´m saying is, Toddlers really like reactionvideos. Asmongold delivers on that.

Oh, and on a more personal note. Watching people play games on Twitch is lame, no matter who plays and who watches.
I couldnt think of a less appealing form of entertainment. I rather watch paint dry.

Musicians didn’t create notes and words, painters didn’t create colors, sculptors didn’t create stone or marble, they use them to create art.
You are just jealous that they make stuff and their stuff is liked.

Nah, that honour goes to Taliesin and Evitel.

A lot of them put out content on youtube in addition to streaming.

Is this one of those ”wear it in silence, or ill honour you again” type of honours? Surely it must be.

What’s the difference between that and watching two teams of 11 guys trying to kick a ball into a net for 90 minutes?
Because I’m sure no one thinks that watching football is lame.

dude watches southpark and at the same calls watching streams lame.

Kinda different. Not everyone is in a position to they themselves play in a football game with professionals on a proper pitch with proper rules, so watching such is entertaining.

Everyone who watches twitch is likely in a position to play the game they themselves are watching someone else play.

I mean I get it when you’re watching stuff like MDI and AWC, because that’s about watching people on another skill level, doing what you can’t, but I don’t really get people who watch another person play when that person doesn’t really do anything remarkably different from what you yourself are capable of. It’s like watching someone else watch tv.

I mean, if people enjoy that, that’s fine, I guess I just don’t understand it. My main point is comparing some person who is just “playing wow” and not doing anything particularly spectacular in it is nothing like watching a professional game of football at all - and I myself don’t like football.

A better analogy might have been “do you go to the park with your football to watch the other random people kick around their ball?” because I would agree with you, that sounds really wierd, but i don’t think people actually do that. Whereas there are people who will whilst playing a game, watch other people also playing the game even if the person they;re watching is just doing mundane stuff like running around in Oribos.

I think the main reason people watch streams outside of stuff like MDI AWC or high skill play is the personality of the streamer themselves tbh, not so much that they’re actually gaming. It’s more their narrative whilst gaming. I can get behind doing it for that reason certainly, as opposed to actually watching them game in-itself being interesting.
