Ok, this bugged me for a long time and i’m certainly not the first one to bring this up, but why do casters in wow only use their hands to cast?
It looks so goofy, having this big glowing staff, and sheathing it on my back to wiggle my fingers in the direction of enemies. In legion, i got reminded, that Illidan was allowed to cast his spells with his staff in his storyquests. Thats so much better!
Wands, maces shields, why do they only get whipped out for melee attacks and never for casts? Paladins are like 50/50 on their casts, its fine to cast Blessing of freedom with a weapon or shield, but for flashheal its back to wiggling fingers. Goofy is just the only word for this.
This would be my big wish for midnight. sheathing weapons and shield only out of combat and getting some new castanimations would really go a long way for me.
Like with nearly 100% of issues similar to this one, the answer is that Blizzard are lazy, cheap, and do not care to invest time and money into something that will only make the player experience slightly better without translating directly in an increase in revenue.
That’s also why new races never get to play Shaman or Druid.
Blizzard can’t be bothered making new totems and race specific forms.
There is (or there WAS, I don’t know this since I don’t play warlocks actively) a warlock spell that opens demon portals with the staff which is AMAZING, I always take that talent even if not optimal just because of that animation alone.
