I’ve played for 14 years and enjoyed all that I’ve done; if you don’t enjoy what you do, but continue to do it, it’s on you to stop & move on to something more enjoyable.

Fun is not Fun when you feel the time is wasted
and blizzard like to waste our time by making us grind Artifact powers that become meaningless within 3-6months
i think the point of the thread is that , our time is amounting to nothing long term, in the current grind for Artifact power/ covenants etc

You can certainly feel that way. I have a different feeling.
As long as I’m enjoying my grind, it’s all good. And in fact, I prefer a long grind to being done fast. Because being done is boring and will lead to quitting.
I have no issues with borrowed power IF the borrowed power fits into my class/spec fantasy.
That really depends how you think about it. Technically all time that isn’t spent on something productive is wasted. Playing games and having fun isn’t productive, so one could argue playing games is a waste of time.
But that’s why the saying “time you enjoy wasting is not wasted” even exists in the first place.
Personally I’m more interested in the fun I can have in the moment rather than getting long term results. Other than improving skill-wise, which I find fun.
So you raid mythic? It takes no skill whatsoever isn’t it? Also why are you asking why do you play? Got hurt because demo is getting a nerf?

Now I regret not being in the mage discord. I’d have loved to see what crap this guy spouts thinking he’s outsmarting some of the best players and theorycrafters.

Not necessarily true. Recreating, relaxing, is a prerequisite for recharging, which in turn is something you want to do to end up being productive. You’re not going to be productive if you don’t relax, recreate, or recharge: you’ll be constantly tired and burnt out.
It’s not immediately productive, but it is something you do to become productive.

i can understand both sides
- i agree with some of your points
- i agree with some of the OP points
i personally think grinds should not amount to power, but grinds should still be in the game to give people something to do
i believe any power gained should be solely through gear upgrades, adding more systems to gain access to parts of the game to get more systems ( conduits, renown, tier sets, legendary) is a cluttered approach to making the game feel worth your time
- im an oldschool vanilla player and to me it seems like they are are trying to distract and keep us busy so we don’t notice the lack of content, and they are using these systems ( covenants, renown, conduits, legendarys) to distract us

I find endgame to be a waste of time, as in not fun at all. In fact I find that’s true for levelling in Shadowlands.
To me the recent expansions just feels like a soulless grind, and I can’t quite pinpoint why that’s the case when compared to older content, which to me just ‘feels’ far more fun. I enjoy levelling in the older zones (up to about WoD).
threads like these confuse me… Why indeed? It’s as if so many of you have never given another mmo out there the light of day or tried them out.
It doesn’t have to be final fantasy… But you should still give them a go… And when playing them. See and ask your selves what is it about WoW that always calls you back. That all the other games are missing?
ill be honest, i played gw2 for about 2 years and it was good,
i tried new world and lost ark but i dont like the art style ( anime style mmo )
the most fun ive had recently is playing Survival base building games…
if anyone knows any games in that genre, let me know !
