Why do you Play Horde or Alliance?

Actually I still like Tauren a lot, but I really dislike their “new” running animation, after a bit of gameplay I get sick of seeing it (same happens with Pandaren and Worgen, I like them on paper, but some of their animations are “tiring” for my eyes). Which is a shame.

But it is what it is, I can do nothing about it.

It’s also a bit the reason I came back to Dwarf after being a Kul Tiran hunter, their running animation looks a bit weird too (a bit… stiff?). I guess I have a problem with running animations. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

I get what you mean, but the animations aren’t make or break for me personally; I think WoW does animations pretty well overal.

It’s aesthetic and such that can be a dealbreaker for me. For instance; Draenei. I will not play them because of the tendrils on their face, their hooves and their voices. I genuinely am creeped out by tendrils and I just dislike those other features I listed.

I play both. But I started on alliance because, no joke, Gnomes have an engineering bonus. If you want the story, read on, it´s kind of hilarious in retrospect. If not, we´re done here :beers:

The person that got me into the game highly oversold Engineering, to the point where I was expecting Engineer to be almost it´s own class and thinking of the TInker Gnomes from Dragonlance… massive, insane contraptions changing the course of a battle made from all sorts of things that would make Rube Goldberg and MacGyver look like the’yre playing with duplo bricks…

So I buy the game, do the disc dance we all fondly remember, god knows how many hrs later I can create an account and log in…

Looking through the races, gnomes were the only ones with an engineering bonus, Ok, freaking perfect, take my money.

But, what class?? Well, can´t be a paladin like for so many years in D+D… Hmm… warrio? nah, to dumb… priest? Yeah, no screw that god stuff… Wait,intelligence bonus? That sounds like pure caster… Kinda always wanted to try a mage… Ah, F it, go for it, fireball makes things go boom, too… And this is kind of what has always been his core philosophy… If it explodes, buzzes, flies around randomly, or can electrocute you in the Bathtub, it was probably me. Especially if it explodes or can electrocute you in the bathtub :rofl:

And then I was sitting there in the char creation screen, had a reasonabley insane look… name, hmm… Somehow this one popped into my head, sounded ok, probably wasn´t a an insult in some unknown language, Yeah I’ll take it :rofl:

I was eventually disappointed by engineering, but firemage was absolutely always the right choice. And I do legit earn most of my gold with Fireworks, so, Look for for the Exploding Gnome on the box when planning your next holiday celebration in the Auction house, the rest are just expensive knockoffs :rofl::beers:

When i started playing the ppl i played with were alliance so that was my option if i wanted to play with someone i knew. And i’ve stuck with alliance ever since. These days i play both factions since it doesnt really matter, but my main will always be alliance.

Yes, I agree. In fact, I’m giving Tauren another chance on Remix, I gave up on Worgen and Pandaren but I won’t give up on my beloved cows. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Tauren was to be my original main back in the day (before launch even - because I just loved that race in WC3). But when I saw the WoW model of them when I played in the vanilla beta, it was a big, big letdown. So I rolled an orc (female ofc) when the game launched. And that was the birth of Tahra. I actually ran all the way to Mulgore on my fresh character; died loads of time in the barrens, but I kept going. I was going to play an orc who was adopted by tauren.

So yeah… Tauren do have a special place in my heart. :blush:

What I love about Tauren is that they just make such a perfect target for a name that screams “I don´t take myself seriously and neither should you” :smiley:

I actually knew that because of Eddie Murphy. He uses the term in his standup show Raw from way back in the day.

Guess I better not link to a snippet of that show, but it’s on YT for those interested.

It too bad, it was really funny for the 30 seconds it was up because of the crosspost :beers:

I still have that on Laser disc, that´s exactly how I caught it, too, the italian segment popped into my mind :rofl:

And racist or not, it was funny as all hell… the nice thing about Eddie was that the racism wasny really necessary for most of the jokes it to land, like the one about marriage, they just drove it over the top, “Murphy marries bush…” :rofl:

My friends were horde now i just love the faction when theyre not getting villain batted

I play firstly High Elve then better choice is Blood Elves but I hate the horde.

I would like to play alliance but I dont want to play punk goth elve with smurf racial

I prefer alliance architecture, lore, races, start zone etc

I ve big hope for Midnight and my CB is ready for faction change service.

I play Dwarf, they are the pinnacle of evolution. Horde will be so grateful to finally have the Master Race among their ranks.

I was playing Alliance Dwarf Priest 2005-2008 and reroll Horde. I dont think I will go back to Alliance because Horde is cool! I miss Dwarf Priest and Ironforge! :heart:
