Why do you PTR Hardmode?

I mean sure let people test out hardmode but with nerfed hp and damage just so many people as possible can report bugs, but when you let practice with the difficulty is gonna make the world first race so cringe when its a 15 year old game.

Cause without practice runs it would not be cringe?

PTR is not meant to practice with and blizzard even did it previously with classic dungeons that in PTR it was nerfed versions, its to make it accesible for everyone so you can bug test, not for edgy hardcore guilds to practice speed runs already.

What’re you proposing here? That people help bugtest then slip and hit their heads so they forget what they tested?

Just the inevitable consequence of the classic team being 1 starving intern I’m afraid, if they’d just spend a bit of money on Q&A this wouldn’t happen.

Should have the hardmode mechanics but nerf the dmg bosses do so ppl can actually test the whole fight and reports bugs, and makes it so ppl will be taken with surprise when the actual raid comes out when bosses do way more dmg.

Like they did with Naxx40, wing for wing.
I agree with you 100% here, it should be set up so as many as possible can test mechanics in different scenarios, not so that min/maxers have a benchmark to bring with them to release.

Its not about mechanics but about numbers. PTR should be testing encounters with boosted numbers, so that as many as possible can provide feedback on most mechanics and scenarios, in reference to classes, spells, setups, consumbles etc. Then it should be closed.

The wannabe min/max community aka “SemI HarDcoRe”-guilds (which cover 90% of them) are using PTR as a free practise without investment, then doing it again on release claiming “We did it in one night”.

The self deception is real, and unfortunatly pushed alot of guilds in a scenario where they were forced to practise on PTR not to lose members as new content is released and prince/princesses couldnt handle 1 wipe before jumping ship. In a scenario where population is sinking by the week.

Perhaps it wont be a thing if content is easy, but I observed what happened during TK/SSC (TBC) and we as a community lost alot of players and guilds. Which in the end isnt benefitting anybody.

Do you even participate? I think it’s a non-issue.
I think not letting people test speedruns and hard modes is not good for the whole community, people can’t give proper feedback about difficulty and critical issues.
Besides, a lot of speedrun and RF guilds have been practicing on pservers for decades.

They shouldn’t need to. In ideal world Blizzard should be able to handle those things themselves. There’s also the problem that likely many of those that practice it ahead of time will not bother reporting bugs as they don’t care nor see it as their purpose. They see a free practice ahead of time. In fact from what official Blizzard post said… They didn’t really introduce too much in terms of new mechanics. Just tightening of requirements and increasing the damage.

Not to mention, happily abuse said bugs to get their firsts.

The only way to fix this is for Blizzard to actually hire Q&A folks, but we all know they won’t.

I want my guild farm PTR because i don’t want to raid off at 23h30 just after Kologarn the first day because they are untrain, it’s so boring.

Gosh, why do people pull out “If you let em test the hard es content it would be easy card” card every time? The encounter itself was studied and practiced millions of times over 13 years. The only difference now is that Blizzard needs us to test if everything works on modern WoW:DF engine WoW:WotLK Classic runs on. You do not want a broken encounter, do you?

U want them to clear it in 5h instead of 3,5?
Blizzard doesnt care but only for the $$$. Classic is their cashcow

Then test the encounter and not the numbers. If you want to make sure it works as intended you don’t need the exact numbers. Or you could, you know hire the Quality control team.

They dont put the final iteration on PTR as several as said before they never know 100% of the fight. Because the changes they make etc etc dont get updated on the ptr.

You know blizz did it for naxx 40 boosting everyones dps to test all the bugs? The difficulty though dont have to be the same.
