Why does Darkshore award 400-item level gear?

I feel I’ve been abundantly clear on this matter, but let me reiterate:

Nobody cares what you think, nobody cares who you are, and no one gives even the remotest **** what you think about their gear, least of all me. Is that clear enough for you?

These are 2 flawed ways to look at gear. Gear is meant to be a reward for pushing yourself to doing X. It isn’t about other people having gear but it is about the gear itself.

Gear has never felt so trivial in WoW before, nowhere near as much as BfA has made it. Getting the same item level as a heroic raid from a warfront ruins getting gear for many people including myself. Beating the content will only get you so far, once you have experienced it then every other time will feel and be diminished.

Any sense of pride and achievement is undermined by the fact that gear is so easy to get, someone who raids X times a week on heroic+ shouldn’t get rewarded the same as someone who queues up for a warfront and basically semi-afk’s through it.

Gearing up has become to easy in this game, its catchup and freebies have left it in chaos. Some rando getting a piece of 400 gear every week for basically nothing is a problem for other people and the system itself.

This makes me very sad to hear. Remember, there is a person behind every character.

Please mr pro man don’t take my welfare away

It’s just Blizzard catering to the same people who are bashing it for the lack of content.

beating hard content and getting the reward is what should be rewarded.

I’m not sure how it has anything to do with the topic but yes there are probably some people like that but does this affect me or the design of the game? I don’t think so.

Passing off one sided story to facilitate their agenda to dumb down the game even more, give them more loot and say the game is too hard.

I’m serious but are you hallucinating? I’m not so much into conspiracy theories but I honestly don’t think this is the case for most people.

As I said before I don’t mind them to increase the difficulty to mythic level bosses it wouldn’t affect me in the slightest because I’ll still do them on my main and alts, in fact, I’ll probably enjoy it but do I care it’s easy? not really because I can enjoy any level of difficulty just like I enjoy both PvE and PvP.

Every player has the same opportunities as all the other players who do the relevant content to get the relevant gear, but don’t put the same amount of effort in to getting it. Gifting loot chests to players who haven’t earned the gear through justifiable means is worsening the game for them and they don’t realise.

I don’t really understand this part, are you referring to people being boosted? I mean, what can you do about it? that’s the choice of the individual to boost people or get boosted and it’s probably a thing in most if not all games.

A bad player is not going to get better just because they have had high level gear thrown at them, they are not going to feel like they’ve achieved anything for the gear. After a while they will feel lethargic towards the game… which as I look around the forums every now and then, seems to be the case.

World bosses were never designed to be challenging and they are certainly not an education tool for players to improve so the reward you get has nothing to do with it, in fact, the point of the reward is more of a catch-up mechanism than anything else but whether you like to believe it or not for some players it’s actually the end-game and regardless to what you believe these players are probably enjoying it and do feel they achieved something, we have few players in the guild that are like that and they don’t post on these forums, not to mention complain about it.

Seriously, I mean, by doing M+10 you get 400 piece of gear at the end of the dungeon from the chest and 410 in the weekly chest and people are whining about people getting some gear every few weeks if at all… big deal.

People are pug’ing the first few bosses on heroic and mythic so why it bothers people so much that some content is designed for people that want to do some solo content, chill and get some worthy pieces of gear… because again I don’t mind that but some jelly people apparently do.

Mostly because it is a detriment to the game.

No, not really but you how you like to believe that, right?

I’m confident that the design process of the game isn’t as simple as going from what people say to execution.

I don’t understand this part, I thought my position on it was quite clear from my post. Also I don’t think I’m better than the players I generalised. It’s easy to fall into the trap of modern gaming systems which have evolved around and to the instant gratification model, it is something we should all be wary of.

The post besides the first line wasn’t really directed at you but I do think that faulty generalizations are bad.

p.s. Look at this guy and this guy complaining about M+ I mean it never ends, there’s always something.

lets be honest, its not too far off it, especially considering the difference in difficulty between killing mythic Jaina (415, titanforging to…425?) and a warfront (400).

It’s so silly to think about single pieces of gear as opposed to average item level which matters more.

Most if not all people that aren’t progressing on M+10+ and heroic/mythic BoD don’t have an average of 400 yet and by the time they will a new raid tier will be available whereas people that do high-end content have an average of at least 410+

It shouldn’t reward the same as a mythic+10…

Happened to me once, in Arathi Highlands… Except the instance was bugged and the boss wouldn’t spawn. :frowning:

Funnily, this cycle of Arathi I got the swift albino raptor.

I’ve been playing since vanilla, but not early enough to have the albino raptor which I loved seeing, so this has actually been a dream of mine for over a decade which turned reality.

I worked with someone once who had to have the best tech. Best phone, newest car, best gaming PC etc. It seemed to cause him physical pain knowing someone else in the department had something better than him. He must have spent a fortune on unnecessary upgrades. Very strange, it was.

Oh dear, I hope that doesn’t happen any more. I remember when it was an issue :frowning:

Was ages ago, in 8.0, so I’m hoping it’s fixed by now! Of course, after a while individual players left the instance and new players came in and wondered what was going on. I wonder how long that went on for.

So don’t do it then, what a problem that someone take 400 ilvl gear?

its once a week or so and its not like its mythic raid quality or anything so it will have very little impact on the game as a whole apart from to tempt people in to doing slightly harder content than they are already doing … which is precisely what gearing up is for

Why do you call 400 ilvl premium gear?
Maybe fot you its called premium, but for people with 415 loot in most brakets its nothing but trash.

Well, Heroic (current) raid-level items is pretty much premium. And you get that for free.

Or is a heroic raid difficulty now mainstream?
