Why does no one join +9 keys?

I’ve been playing Wow for a while and I’ve always wondered why people rarely want to join +9 keys or +19 keys earlier in the game. It literally makes no sense. They’ll join a +8 or +10 happily. But as soon as it’s a +9 everyone gets scared. It’s easier than a +10 so I don’t get it. It was the same with a +19. People would join +18s or +20s but not 19. It’s really weird an doesn’t make sense to me. Every other key level, from +2s to high keys have no problem with people joining. It’s only +9s that no one joins. It really makes no sense and it’s kind of stupid. Like why +9s in particular? It’s so dumb XD.

While i currently do not see that behaviour, the thing was we got max vault from +10. There’s no reason to do a 9 when you want a 10. And for 8’s i currently do not have an idea (but i also do not see it). +7 gives gulded crests so 7’s are very wanted. More than 8’s and 9’s. 6 is the first to reward hero-track, so those are also farmed. 8 and 9 are only there for people who are on progression on those keylevels, but you only need them once.

+8 is great because it’s the lowest level giving you max level crests.

+10 is great because it fills your vault and gives you portals.

+9 is neither.

It is +7 this season

Because rewards are same as in 7/8.
And there are people who want old m20 max loot point back where even more duplicate rewards exist. :man_facepalming:

:person_shrugging: I’m guessing I’m not the only person who didn’t know. Nor do I know if 7 is particularly popular.

Mainly, as others have said, it is because 9 is stuck between two reward brackets, so people do not feel the need to join it.

If you want to get a 10 key you join an 8 and +2 it, which is very reasonable to do.

If you want hero gear and crests you do 7s. I personally thought 8s give gilded but it seems I am wrong on that note.

If you want vault you run 10s.

We use to have the same with the old system, but instead of having 1 dead key range we had 2 or 3.

it’s weird - go 9 or 8 if u want crests - everyone flocks to 7 so going 8 or 9 - you have more chance to be invited

its so easy to gear up an alt and do +10 keys these days kekw

9s are for people that cant do 10s and cant 2 chest 8’s.

I mean, eww.

simple reason 8s and 9s are same difficulty drop the same rank of gear only difference is 2 more crests, 10s for vault 8 for farming crests and gear. thats basically it

+10 is myth track gear otherwise you might as well just do +6 fo ease…

Also a +9 would typically indicate you failed a +10

nah 7s as 6s dont drop gilded

The blind fox speaks only truth.

9 is an awkward dead zone. If it’s not your key, why bother? It’s harder than you need it to be, might turn into a random strugglebus. Nothing says “couldn’t manage a 10” like a 9. An 8 is probably up and coming.

If you are stuck with a 9 and absolutely have to pug, turn it into an 8 and you have a solid chance to +2. With a 10, you’re back in the game as far as finding people goes.

A +10 fills my vault, while a +9 gives me nothing at all (don’t need crests or hero gear).

Also, I am used to people who are doing 10s easily. That means that having a +9 key a player:

  • Has low gear, thus would be better served farming 8s
  • Has no experience, thus also be better served farming 8s

So for me, 9s are the dungeons that people are “trying to push” this late into the season, and have no experience at all. Generally something I would like to avoid.
