Feels like theres a qol change missing here.

Simple fix would just be to make our free holy power heals free on mana too.
It is ridiculous that the healer occasionally has to wait for me to get mana.

The general design of paladin is flawed when a build/spender class has a secondary finite resource cost aswell.

Prot Paladins were (un) ironically better healers than actual healer specs by simply picking the Hand of the Protector talent.
So Blizzard answered by putting a mana cost on it, not only for Prot, but for every spec.
You can still self sustain with it pretty good but if you start spamming it on others you’ll be OOM pretty quick indeed.
Sad part is that Shining Light only removes the Holy Power cost from it but not the mana which makes it almost pointless as prot hardly had any Holy Power issues to begin with, especially during CDs.

you named a problemic talent but the talent isent nerfed, the ground talent is across the class?
Not only did they break class design on a builder/spender class but their logic behind it (if what you said is true) is faulty. Tho i find any reason they can come up with the mana cost WoG as faulty because it is.
WoG heals for a lot by default on Prot, add in of Dusk and Dawn stacks (up to +60%) + Divine Purpose procs (+15%) + Avenging Wrath (+20% + crit) and I beleive the mastery’s attack power increase also effects WoG’s heal too. Oh, and don’t forget Redoubt as well which adds a flat mainstat bonus too (up to +6%)
So yeah, while Hand of the Protector can also add a lot, the other class talents also capable of adding in a lot of multipliers.
And? Nerf the 5+ multipliers for the spec! Dont break the concept of what a builder/spender is supposed to be! Its there to REPLACE the mana bar!

If you ask me the whole holy power mechanic is redundant at this point.
