Why does Tyrande die because of her powers but Sylvanas and Nathanos don't

So Tyrande couldn’t even beat Nathanos with those powers that are going to kill her now, she only managed to make him flee after Malfurion arrived.
Now we’re told that Tyrande has to die because of those powers, but Nathanos will be just fine? Same with Sylvanas, why does Sylvanas not have to die when she’s so powerful, but Tyrande gets killed off immediately because of the powers that are actually weak and made her stand no chance against Nathanos, let alone Sylvanas?

Not to mention how insulting it is to kill off Tyrande now after everything that happened in BfA and keeping Nathanos and Sylvanas alive after they have basically been undead hitler in BfA.

Stop bringing up Hitler. This is not good analogy. Please.

Tyrande is not going to die. It has been datamined a long time ago that one of the tasks the players have to do is share her power.

These threads are sprouting like crazy… I wish they would at least be labeled “speculation” or “possible spoilers”…

  • Started a war of extermination against the Night Elves
  • Specifically ordered thousands if not millions of civilians to be burned alive and sent to hell so she can torture them in the maw forever until their souls are completely obliterated
  • had death camps in Darkshore for the few surviving night elves
  • raised dead night elves as undead slaves and forcefully made them kill their own people

I think it’s actually a good comparison, she’s way worse than Arthas and possibly the most evil character in wow history, yet gets cinematic after cinematic and is completely untouchable in everything she does. Never has to pay for her crimes and always gets away without a scratch, same with Nathanos.

well… Sylvanas and her boyfriend are undead… so that might be why… tyrande is not… maybe her, now, mortal body cannot take the stress of all this power? but… elune will ofcause show her face once more and save her…
That is my teory…

Because they don’t have the same power source.

Elune’s night warrior power comes at a cost like how the lore constantly tried to state it. The fact that she’s even still alive was unexpected, because they said anyone who tried it before died. sylvanas’s Jailer related power, comes from her working with/for him. Whatever the cost of that power is, it wasn’t her life being on the line.

The Naaru Elune has not forgotten us!

Yeah and? Remember Cata, when Godfrey managed to one shot Sylvanas?

It’s Narrative, thats all.

No, we’re told that the Night Warrior power she has taken into herself -could- kill her, and then in the same dialogue told how she can avoid that fate. As for Nathanos he’s already dead. We don’t know -what- Nathanos is (Although I have a few choice words I could use to describe him that would get me a forum ban!) so we don’t know his power level.

Except that does not happen. Tyrande has not been “Killed off immediately” nor do we currently have any reason to believe that she is going to be. Sylvanas has died 3 times, once to Arthas, once by Suicide and once as I say by being shot by Godfrey, with one bullet. From a Pistol. She only has enough Val’kyr left for one resurrection, she is on her last life to use computer game parlance.

Well, it is a good job that isn’t happening, that we know of.

Youch. Not a good comparison, and people throw that monster’s name around like candy at Halloween these days, I really wish they wouldn’t, as it cheapens the horrible legacy that loathsome man left behind him, as to the awful banality of evil that people can become and perform, let him stand as a testament to the nature of evil that a simple human being can do, stop linking a supernatural element to him as if he was like Sylvanas. He wasn’t bloody Dracula, he was an odious racist and anti-semite who ascended to political power during a time of desperation. There was nothing supernatural about him. Unlike Sylvanas, who isn’t even human.

Actually she started a war of conquest. Her original plan was to occupy Darnassus, and keep its civilian population alive as ‘human’ shields against Alliance retaliation, things however took a different turn.

She did give that order, yes, because ‘reasons’, or possibly because Blizz wanted to make her into a Saturday morning kiddie cartoon villain. She makes no sense anymore, but also, I don’t think she actually gets an awful amount of say as to what happens in the Maw?

No she doesn’t.

Actually the ones raised seem to be quite vengeful on their own behalf and don’t need any forcing and coercion in order to want vengeance on what they see as a ‘Goddess who failed them’ and ‘Leaders who failed them’.
Which is an understandable motif. I didn’t notice people complaining about the Blood Elves feeling that way towards The Light during TBC, Apostasy because of shattered expectations and broken faith? We’ve been here before, but somehow it only seems to matter when it is the Night Elves on Alliance.

Strange that.

Please, she’s possibly in the top ten, but she is nowhere near the most evil character in WoW history.

So, like Darth Vader does in the original Star Wars trilogy?
Hard to hate a villain if you never see them do villain stuff.

“Ohhh I hate this guy, everyone in the Galaxy hates this guy”
“Why?”
“Umm, I dunno”

You have to -show- a villain to be villainous, otherwise it actually just looks like the heroes are being petty and going “Let’s kill Jeff from the Stationary department of the local supermarket”
“Yeah, he’s so evil, Grrr, lets kill him!”

Evil sells a franchise, you need players to invest in that dislike of the character or else you have no story at all.

Would WotLK have been as dramatic if Arthas had simply did his thing and went to Northrend, sat on his throne and went “Done now” and not had the Scourge rampage around?

Well, I mean in fairness she has died more times than any other WoW character, and as I mention, she is currently dining in the ‘Last chance’ saloon, -because- Tyrande was powerful enough to snatch away one of her greater Val’kyr who are her lifelines.

We don’t need more Night Elf Pity threads, especially when they give misleading information.

You just found out that nobody ever really dies. Draka is a major character in Shadowlands. Maybe there’s a point to Tyrande dying and her death is not the end of her journey. In fact, what Sylvanas has been trying to tell us is that this journey, our lives on Azeroth are nothing. You can’t enact change if you’re alive in Azeroth. You need to die, to go and fix the machine of death. So calm down, Tyrande isn’t going anywhere.
