Why does visions make me so angry

It is not the challenge in itself that is the problem. I just don’t enjoy this type of gameplay, therefore I skip it. Example; I enjoy pvp but it is broken since they removed vendors and real pvp-gear. And not everyone wants nor have the time to pve. One of the neat features in wow before were that you could be a pvp-player and just login and do some fast content and still progress your character, it were good if u did other things than just play wow, example; work, school etc. I think many players feel that they are forced into pve content to even be little viable in pvp.

(This is just my opinion it doesn’t reflect all players preferences)

Cheers! :beers:

It’s very gear and class dependent. While you can work on gear and tune your character, you can’t do anything about your class. It’s really irritating when Paladin, DK or DH come and tell you don’t do it because you don’t have to.

Blizzard one more time proved they did not do their job!!! Visions are not for every class. My DH face roll visions with insane heal, shaman is painful, Rogue is is almost like DH with leech I barely have problem to do the content. Feral would not make it as easily if I did not have gear for tank. So as you can see the content is unfair regarding classes. Also if something goes terribly wrong I can cancel combat on Rogue, etc. You may have to ask for boost, I’m afraid.

i have this strange suspition that its liek with raiding - you see so many guilds in mythic raiding unable to kill more then 4-5 bosses during whole tier - blaming stuff on gear , tunign , wrong classes - when in fact its the fact that they push 20th percentiles which is the reason .

i find it surprising why people say DH is the king there - i have so much easier time on my paladin there due to bigger toolkit it has as retri in comparison to DH.

Visions were fun at the beginning

But more difficulty it becomes a game of “can I cast now?”

At least melee can still stab and remotely play their core character mechanics even with the madness debuffs.

With casters it becomes “can I play my class now?” “running and shooting was my thing but I guess I can’t now”

You can still do them and win but it’s still annoying. Extremely so.

hm i guess im wrong but wouldnt affliction warlock be very strong there ? with tanking pet and dots that allow him to focus on avoiding mechanics ?

If you get stunlocked in Stormwind. Try actually interrupting the stun.

If he hasn’t offered to help, then this confirms my suspicions about the majority of DH mains :stuck_out_tongue:

Priest is in a bad place for visions, and I heartily encourage people with priests in their guild to offer to help them. They do ok when they can stand behind someone, but they cannot be front liners - be that person they can be behind. Mages can spec frost and should be fine.

But it is of course gear dependant, and I think the most disappointing thing is that visions drop gear that is useless to most classes because it’s too damn low. It’s no good getting 430 gear if my frost mage had to be 445+ to get it. So you end up doing all of it for the corruption resistance and scrapping the “reward”, and that does feel disappointing.

However… run them as a group, and it genuinely becomes fun. First time today, I got chance to hit a 4-mask vision with 4 players, and it went really well. I can just about solo 4-masks, but doing it as a team was so comfortable by comparison that I just do not want to ever go back in solo. I really think Blizz need to do class-by-class tuning of visions such that everyone ends up in the same state and we don’t have a few who excel at it and a few who suck.

It’s not like with raiding. In raids you are grouped together building synergy as many classes complement each other.

King or not king, my point was to emphasise the imbalance in terms of classes in visions and would just appreciate if some people were not ignorants when they post as Paladins, DHs or DKs. As an example, I am quite surprised how easy Rogues are. They can survive a lot there wearing equivalent gear.

It’s just that the design of visions is not properly considered and Blizzard has not been doing anything apart from giving more resources so we could have more attempts. It doesn’t change the fact that e.g. class X however n-times one tries, will more likely fail than class Y.

Now we’re in slow transition to the next expansion Shadowlands, so I guess they are already ignoring every single complaint about BfA.

Thank god I’m a paladin main. Visions are so easy on a retri, but still infuriating and boring. At least I know I can get my gear easily, which won’t have TD or Ineffable Truth on it. : - )

I think visions are most fun frature of BFA~ the only fun feature of BFA. I made only 4mask at this moment but whatever~ its fun! (for dps classes🤣).

Tried my first 5 mask run yesterday and died 2/3 through Valley of Wisdom thanks to Leaden Foot. I just got stuck taking repeated unavoidable damage from tentacles on the way to the first mini boss, then got all my sanity drained by the second mini boss. Both times because I just couldn’t “move out of the fire” in time.

I’m going to try again with Gladiator’s Safeguard so hopefully I’ll not have to use my emergency health / sanity restore thingy for taking damage, but does anyone have any tips for dealing with Leaden Foot? Is it just a matter of stopping right before the difficult section of the zone and waiting for it to come on and then go away again? The other affixes I can manage fine but this one gets me every time, though to be honest I’ve avoided pushing difficulty on Leaden Foot weeks.

If you are a paladin you have freedom for leaden foot  Use it only as emergengy like you just described and you are fine. I mean, just dont move when you dont have to.

Tentacles dont do damage. They spawns towards you. Sidestep and kill it.

Just…kill each pack by itself? Why are you pulling the tentacles on to the first mini boss? You have absolutely no reason to. You have cloak rank 15, time isn’t a problem. And yes, leaden foot - don’t move. If you have a talent for quicker HoJs play it, wait for HoJ to come on CD and stun the tentacle first. I iris the double tentacle pack (which kills them before they burrow) and stun the single tentacle in the other pack.

Leaden foot is a problem when you move too much and since it sounds like you are pulling too much, relax, pull one pack at a time.

Also the weakauras/potions do actually help a lot. At least the sanity ones. Look out for them, they are much better in 5mask than anything else.

Yeah, I think I may be over-using this when I don’t really need to. Then I don’t have it when I really need it.

I pulled them before I got to the mini boss, I just got stuck in a cycle of tentacles popping up under me over and over, with Leaden Foot stopping me from moving away and just took loads of damage from the mobs.

I think that’s where I’m going wrong. I’m playing Visions like Warmode PvP where I want to move as much as possible as players run away from me… but NPCs aren’t running away! This strategy has worked fine 'till now but I guess I’ve hit my skill cap (I generally don’t run challenging Dungeon-like content) and need to ltp

Yeah it is like that debuff from the pack at eudora’s room (2nd boss freehold) getting a debuff that stuns you when you jump.

Why the freak am i actually jumping?

Gotta do those bunnyhops

Honestly I stopped doing them after week 2. Just not my kind of fun at all.

Priest and mage are the two worst classes for visions.
There are faceroll classes, that makes this even enjoyable. As a general rule, casters are not super good for it. There aee some places where mechanics happening like every 0.5s, and just can’t cast anything.
I didn’t enjoy this to much as elemental, but with ench is ok, you can at least dps while moving.
And then there is a BM hunter - even with a fresh char it feels sooo much easier.

The main thing - just stay calm, don’t focus on dps, focus on mechanics. People complete this with half grey gear and 30k dps.
If you struggle to survive from pure mobs melee damage - just use 2% healing food + 2% healing potion from vision itself, you’ll have crazy self sustain.

there is nothing stopping people from 2 maning it - for example make a DH join their team and then faceroll it too.

unless you mean the FoS for solowing 5 masks - but anything but it works wonders.

If you are still running visions to upgrade your cloak and you take 5 masks if you are not rank 15 you are doing it wrong.
