Fire druid set from the Island Expeditions are easily going up to 500k btw.
But are they actually selling for that?
It’s not how much they are on AH at the moment.
What is the demand, and is the actual price people are willing to pay for them.
Due to the fact that it is so rare, yes they do, I personally sold shoulders for 200k. The whole set easily makes it above 500k.
how often do you sell those shoulders at 200k and how long were they on the AH for?
whilst I’m not doubting that they do sell for that much. But if you’re listing 1 item every day for 12 months at 38g a listing to get 1 sale… you have to wonder whether it’s worth it.
i can’t sell tmogs, mounts etc. either in my realm. i feel like they have those high sell rates because of rp realms.
Seriously, I did not even know you could make a profit of selling transmogs, but you can.
As I have mentioned, those firelands druid set is so rare, and it is a green item, I am pretty sure people have gotten it while mount farming but accidentally vendor it.
I sold mine within 24 hours believe me or not on TM, I sold Paladin blue/ice tint helmet for 75k within like 3 days.
So yeah, you can get profit of transmogs pretty good, but takes a while as you are not the only one selling them.
I forgot, I also sold couple of BOES from TOS, the crown (Something highborne crown) was sold 95k.
Perhaps people buy it on non rp servers to use it on rp servers as in the rp servers the prices are way higher.
Maybe your server is busier for it.
Most people, including the r/Woweconomy crowd say that it’s notoriously slow to sell. And tbh, I have bankers full of items that have never sold.
Maybe you’ve gotten lucky. But I’ll make that kind of money in an afternoon just doing my professions.
And as for me I was never lucky with the professions, meaning I couldn’t make money out of it, last time I made gold out of the professions was in legion by crafting legendaries.
There’s no luck involved. It’s about spotting where the profit is and making the most out of it.
Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
As no one is willing to pay for your mogs, they are not worth 500k

Even on rp realms mogs dont sell so well
One thing is sure if u want to sell mogs prepare for a lot of reposting on ah as in most cases takes me few weeks to sell any of them
You also have to consider how many people have millions upon millions of gold to throw away for transmog. The answer is not very many.
People who want transmogs will be more likely to farm them themselves than be gouged on gold costs.
For rarer items, people will look for alternatives or other sets completely if they’re going to be pressed out by rarity or gouging.
Regular people don’t have millions of gold and, to be honest, “worth” is really based off of “desire to purchase”. Your AH lots are worth squat if no one wants to pay that price! 
I don’t have the patience to sell transmog. If it doesn’t go after listing it a couple of times, I just vendor it.
