I’m just curious as to why there are no class specific tier sets anymore. What was Blizzard’s reasoning for this? Was it literally just so they didn’t have to make so many? I thought they wanted to bring back class identity and uniqueness in Shadowlands, and yet if you are a dark, demonic warlock you will look the same as a holy priest in tier sets, is this right? Don’t warlocks prefer to look devilish, holy priests a bit holy? The sets look awesome yeah, but why do we not have tier sets for classes anymore?
Tier sets disappeared a while after Mythic+ came out.
They probably found it unfair that raiders got advantage against those who only enjoy Mythic+.
It’s funny though, after 15 years they never did for pvp players but it didn’t took long for mythic+ players.
iirc they said they wanted to make only equip type specific gear because they then could focus on making them very special and detailed. they only need to focus on 4 instead of 12 sets. like…quality over quantity.
…worked out really well. sets look wose than ever and very similar for a couple of expansions now. no love and care goes into them anymore whatsoever.
not only in sets. transmog in general. its all the same friggin copy paste recolours. im so sick and tired of it.
guess it was just an excuse to save money.
this was their reasoning but it has been quite a while so take it with a grain of salt i could be remembering it incorrectly.

While loot is personal…
You do know that in some high end guilds YOUR personal loot goes where the raid leader or gm decide ? xD
The biggest disappointment was always the sets, back in WoD when i was new and foolish in this game i did blend in a top tier guild and result was: I got a cutting edge and tier sets kept going to mages for a chance of WF or socket, never got a chest.
Imagine seeing the “strongest” 3 key class getting 2-3 tiers each week and whining that never gets a socket and you still have HC tier on…
Except now mythic+ has the advantage over raiding, massively.
It really doesn’t.
Raiding straight out has better loot, it’s just less farmable.

the hard truth is its because a certain class of player felt FORCED to get tier bonuses and thus were FORCED to equip certain items… and it just so happens that the top dog at blizzard is one of those people and decided that everyone else just should suffer too
so thanks for that, i wonder what else will get ruined because of raider tears
Because a lot of classes would feel somewhat incomplete without the full set.
PvP-only players are at level of Battle Pet Players! If they would leave then noone would notice. Almost everyone is a Mythic player tho~ doing at least one weekly for free stuff.
wouldnt mind looking like a squid if it was a friggin awesome and not bootleg squid. 
Because they’re lazy. Simple as that. They switched from 12 unique gear sets per tier to 4, and somehow still managed to make those 4 sets look meh.
