I haven’t been around for quite a while. I’m trying to gain reputation with Cenarion Expedition, and everywhere I read it says to run The Steamvault on normal or The Underbog on heroic. Everyone on wowhead says how they get about 2000 reputation per run, but I only get around 300-400 reputation per run, including all trash and bosses. Is there some change or am I not doing something right? I’m currently at 4631/21000 with the Cenarion Expedition and for 300 reputation per run I would need to do 50+ runs to get exalted…
My character is level 49 so the mobs are gray for me and I’ve done all quests that give reputation with this faction.
Sorry, it’s been a long time since I did Cenarion. I don’t remember much. I’m sure I just used https://www.wowhead.com/faction=942/cenarion-expedition#comments when I did, tho. Like:
I then found moving over to The slave pens on heroic and again not killing any bosses net me more reputation towards Cenarion Expedition, about 2000-4000 reputation per run depending on if you have any reputation modifiers. Clear it, reset instance and repeat until exalted.
All I can suggest is do the trick of running around Heroic and not killing bosses, just trash, so you can repeat.
Have you noted which mobs, in which dungeons, on which difficulties, give how much rep?
P.S. You can turn on the display of rep gains. Right click your General tab of chat, Settings, Other, and tick Reputation.
This quote you gave shows that this person gets at least 2000 reputation per run. I have the display reputation in the chat, trash give around 15-25 and bosses I think around 75-100. So a full run adds up to around 300 reputation, which is a lot less than 2000-4000. I also did try the heroic mode without killing the bosses, but it gives about 400 reputation, so I still haven’t received 2000 reputation in a single run. Mayb they’ve lowered the reputation gain?
Edit: I saw the post you mentioned, and the person who posted is in patch 9.0.1 and still said he’s getting 2000 reputation per run, so they didn’t lower it. I feel like I’m missing something here?
If trash mobs give rep at all at Revered, they can’t give less than 1 each. If they give 15 each, that’s a lot of rep from one clear.
OK, I just sent an alt of mine into Slave Pens Heroic.
He is getting 15 rep per mob.
That will add up to at least 1K rep by the end of the run. I’ll let you know.
Okay this is weird, so I’m not getting the same amount of rep as you. I’m def not getting 1k rep and I’m sure I’m killing all trash. Some trash doesn’t even give me any amount of rep. Maybe this is a bug? I’m really confused.
My alt is Honoured, not revered, and that might make the difference.
BUT if you’re seeing 15 rep per trash mob kill, how can you not be getting much rep?`
EDIT: OK that run got me 1700/ Almost Revered. I’ll see if anything changes
EDIT2: OK, he’s now Revered, and still getting 15 Rep per trash mob.
This is Slave Pens Heroic.
All the Elites give 15 rep each, and the Yellow non-elites 5 each.
I decided to dismiss my Voidwalker and try the Underbog on heroic again. Now without any pet I gain 15 rep from each trash mob. For whatever reason it doesn’t give me rep when my pet kills mobs. I will just have to go without my pet I guess.

I should have thought of that!
You don’t get credit for mobs your pet kills unless you’ve tagged them first. I find the same problem, but worse on Hunter.

Ohhh… I didn’t know that to be honest I knew it was something stupid, well at least now I know how to get reputation. Thank you!
