I’m playing classic so not sure it applies to retail.
When you pvp and come across a russian team, they are highly organized with audio.
You have to change tactics and be more agressiv, some people become catatonic or go on complaining which weakens your team and makes winning harder, still possible but no fun.
Imagine you are EU, wait for one hour to enter an Alterac and then you discover you will face 40 people with Cyrilic names and you have none in your team. Russians are associated with ‘enemy’, agressivity and no fun.
Blizzard has done nothing to rebalance the situation, and when we talk among ourselves, it’s usually antirussian.

I don’t mind russian players myself, they are the same like every other nationality, but their selfishness with using cyrylic alphabet, when rest of europe is speaking english is irritating, i also can’t talk to them specificcally because i can’t write their name in chat. They are also the most accused nationality in terms of cheating, but how much truth it contains… i don’t know.

What is funny? From my experience only Russians are using their native language in group activities and it’s a fact, so i don’t see anything funny.
Rest of Europe definitely isn’t speaking English.
If you play on german realm, or spanish realm sure, but on english realm when i play i don’t see those languanges in group chats, on trade chat, with guild invites sure, but every normal person won’t speak to his group mate in language that he doesn’t understand. Russians are using cyrylic alphabet to communicate with english speaking people so they are outsiders, like Vatican in Rome 
Vodka jokes aside, it’s mostly this, a language issue.
I do now many russian speak english, probably many more than in other countries: i’m from Italy and several people of my guild struggles with english.
Still, with Russian the alphabet is the issue. They do not run the game in English so their name is in Cyrillic making difficult to tell someone to do X, especially if you have more people of the same class. Their addons are in Cyrillic and so on. While i can get a grasp of what people from the rest of europe are saying, like from france or germany, i can’t do the same with another alphabet i do not comprehend.
So unless what i’m doing require little to no communication, like an island, a low key, a old pug raid, its much easier to play without russians.

Sweetheart, allow me to educate you a bit : Cyrilic is not used in Russia only, but also in 7 other European countries such as Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Ukrania and others. And apart from Cyrilic, you also have Greek people who use their own alphabet.
