Why don't we have more than one "summon random mount" button?

Seems a fairly glaring omission, ideally we should be able to group mounts by their types (dragonriding, flying, ground, etc) and can summon a random one based on those or other filters

LiteMount addon can give you 4 extra random binds and as many profiles for those 4 binds as you want. You can group types to each keybind too or have it auto select the appropriate mounts for where you are. Basically does most that you are asking but it does require a little bit of effort to edit each of the binds.

I would love this. I can no longer use my random mount option as it will always give me a dragon riding mount and I use my slow flapper. So I no longer get to see bits of my collection anymore.

I’m not aware of an addon that does this either atm.

You can just disable all the Dragonriding mounts with the LiteMount addon. Dead easy, just have uncheck each one in the options.

Does the official random mount button still summon a Dragonriding mount even when you don’t have any marked as favourites?

This is how I use it. To summon a random mount from anywhere in my collection. I have no favourites marked.

Is there a cap on fav mounts? You could just mark everything except Dragonriding ones as favourites if not. Might take a few mins but only need to do it once.

I use MountsJournal. You can set as many profiles as you want, or just use a default one for every character. You can then assign mounts for each category: dragonriding, flying, riding and swimming, the correct category will be summoned depending on where you are. If you assign more than one for a category the addon will pick one of those at random each time you summon, you can even set percentages for how frequently each assigned mount will be summoned.
