Why don't you heal?

52.6% of players that have done a key at all have gotten KSM, so it’s actually not more than most.

The easiest role is definitely being a follower npc, you get to pull everything you shouldn’t, do no dps, pop lust whenever you feel like it (usually at the end of a pull), and what is anyone gonna do? That’s right, nothing.

Trolling since obviously a dps is the easiest to carry.
You cherrypick parts and quote.

I’d heal if raiding wasn’t such a chore.

Make it 8 players max, cut the ability bloat from healing kits, optimise the UI, and support casual inputs like controllers or touch. Then we’re talking.

It’s not that healing isn’t fun. It’s just not built to be.

That’s why I play it.

I have tried healing and something tells me you haven’t.

Anyway, the answer is I used to, then Blizzard went to war on healing and made it the most stressful role. I like the healer role fantasy, I don’t like the current implementation.

Sadly I’m a terrible dps so now I just kind of exist in limbo, getting carried by my winning smile and witty remarks while waiting for the day the devs remember that healers like to have fun too.

Kind of only subbed for a couple of weekly raids atm. If I wasn’t anchored by the good people I know and play with, I’d have quit a while back.

Why dont you tank?
Instant queus?
Easy as balls in dungeons and can even solo some.
Can rival dps in being awesome

If they made it controller friendly, I’d do it. My brain’s wired from 20 years of console gaming. DPS is easy, so is tanking, but healing? The UI just isn’t built for it.

I’ve been playing Mistweaver only for like a decade now.

Fellow Monk. Indeed, healing is really easy.

They’ve done that already. The game is way too easy right now. If anything, they should be adding more spells.

I main’d as a healer from TBC right into Legion, then switched over to DPS. Used to always play the support roles prior.

It is not players, but characters. Alts…
Or is it per account

Ooo, ooo, I call Poe!

You’re a Monk. You should be agreeing with me.
Both Windwalker and Mistweaver were at their peak in WoD.

Have they? I need to check it out.

I tried to be healer in dragonflight since evoker had healing spec and it was a good excuse.

No. Never again.

It is too stressful.

I found myself doing far more work than I ever did with dps or tanks. Almost at any moment I was seconds away seeing someone die and then I’d be blamed for it. I actually liked healing in lower tier content at start of the expansion, but I quickly quit M+ after realizing what kind of experience it was.

You also got to see how dumb people were. I had to carry those mistakes.

Dps makes a mistake. No one will notice unless someone complains about dps meter.

Tank makes a mistake. Result depends on content, but they usually just take some extra damage that healer has to deal with. Some dps might get damaged a bit while they pop defensive cooldowns and possibly survive. Healer has to deal with it.

Healer makes a mistake. Party member and possibly entire party dies and gets blamed for it.

Why would I ever want to play healer?

Last time I tried healer was around the time of Blizzs Traiage malarky. Went from being ablr to heal to literally spamming my biggest heals and watching the health bar move 0.01% just felt pointless.

I heal for queue-able content, where failure wont make anyone tilt too much

This feels like a s**tpost of a thread but I’ll bite. I have played tank, healer and DPS pretty extensively, but there’s a reason why I prefer DPS. You might as well as change the healer role’s name to “team babysitter”, every mistake made by a DPS or tank is somehow your fault.

Group wipes due to tank overpulling and there’s damage flying everywhere hitting everyone way faster than you can heal with your limited AoE healing tools – it’s your fault.
DPS stand in swirlies and die to fire – it’s your fault.
Tank/DPS fail to interrupt and die – it’s your fault.

As healer you pretty much have to do everything, everywhere, all at once, maybe except tanking. You have to DPS, interrupt and spam heals like no tomorrow because everyone is taking constant, uninterruptible AoE damage that’s like 5% of their total health pool every second, and your “big AoE heals” maybe heal like 0.5% of their HP a second.

Tanking ain’t much better either, you have to know THE route through every single dungeon from classic to [current expansion] like the back of your hands by watching millions of random videos on Youtube, or else people get impatient and scream at you for being too slow. DPS get bored and start pulling even more and you start to feel like an idiot for not running them through the dungeon at the speed of sound.

So, yeah, no thanks. I’ve learned to tolerate the long queue times as DPS by just doing something else while waiting. Like… running laps gathering herbs or ore. Playing solitaire on the side. Browsing the internet. Long queue times are nothing new to me. 5 minutes? Pfft. That might as well as be 5 seconds, it’ll pop faster than I can finish this game of solitaire.
