Why Early Access Ruins the Fun for Everyone

Three-day early access might seem cool, but it can really mess things up for everyone else. When streamers and a few players get in early, it spoils the story and the excitement for the rest of us who don’t want to shell out an extra $40. It ruins that shared feeling of discovering a new game together. Plus, it creates an unfair gap where some folks are way ahead just because they paid more. Instead of building hype for everyone, it just feels like a cash grab that puts money over the fun and fairness of launching a game for everyone at the same time.

The only way i can see it as being an advantage is if you want to have an early lead on professions, especially gathering ones i guess which is not okay. Other than that it’s kinda useless and is only there to make fomo addicted people fork out an extra 40 bucks.

How about you just avoid youtube and forums until you can play then?

It releases on friday and not usual monday, will make launch much more smooth creating another group of people that enters expansion at different period

All you can do is level and maybe professions as the other poster said.

You can’t gain any meaningful benefit.

I would concern yourself with people in beta testing m+/raid who know everything day 1

because it isn’t a case for… every expansion, yes?

Pro tip. Don’t watch streamers for three days to avoid spoilers.

The only thing people will be able to achieve by playing earlier is maybe a higher profession level. The character levels themselves are achieved quickly anyway.
And you will avoid crowds in the initial locations. These wild numbers of people running after the same quest as you can discourage you from playing the game.

Yes, exactly. The few extra days early access isn’t even worth a mention.

May as well complain about the guys playing 24/7 with no life if you work 9-5 and have kids.

The best thing for me about early access thing is that you can start new expac almost in weekend and not in midst of working week

None of your points have merit.

You can avoid the spoilers and if the 3 days don’t really matter at all.

I would understand you saying people getting advantage with professions , level extra toon etc. None of your points are really valid on this topic.
You can get fully spoiled on youtube atm if you wish to , beta is out. The moment pre patch drops people will datamine cinematics too like before.
I do also think its bad but for different reasons , i can level 70-80 in less then a day atm on beta with huge ping and dcs , will be waaay faster on actual release. People will get multiple toons with professions ready.
If you are interested with gold making you probably must have epic edition atm

ITS ALL ABOUT THE ECONOMY.
im telling you people,
all of the bots . multiboxer groups. gold sellers,
all of them bought the epic version of the game just for that 3 days so they can [redacted] the economy again like the first days of Df.
they should remove the 3 days early access.

and more importantly there are bugs in world map and they are going to find it and exploit it withing that 3 days with 1x5-2x4 and hyper respawn groups.
like what happened in pandaria remix and the other expansions before that.
and till blizzard fixes it or nerf it they will make millions of gold with that with multiple account each and then they sell it.
a simple example of it in df was rousing order bug 2x4 groups.
or awakened air.
you could make atleast 1 million gold per day in 4-5 hours with that bug and it took them 1 [redacted] week to fix it.
it means i saw people went to gold cap in 1 week

Beta will be spoiling it for the next two months too, if you can avoid content creators for that long you can do so for a few more days.
I agree early access is a weird decision but I wouldn’t call it a big deal.

its a big big deal.
i explained it a small part of it above

It’s scummy on some levels, but at the same time, it makes the launch smoother because it evens out the desperate from the chill gamers.

There is a big advantage for economy, irrelevant to me tho as I’m not an AH bot.

The other advantage is in gearing pre-raid, depending on launch schedule it’s very relevant to lose 3 days. It happened to me in Legion I lost 3 days because my computer died, I had to order and build a new computer the day before raids released, as a result I was slightly behind on gearing and also lacked practice I had planned for my spec, we got server first HC Xavius but it was quite clear I was behind going into Mythic. It was crafting and M+ farming I lacked, I didn’t have the pure mastery crafted items, my Blacksmithing/JC weren’t maxed, didn’t have the right relics and had a bad legendary, 3 days would have made a lot of difference.

So people saying 3 days isn’t a big deal, it really is, any player who is doing competitive or progression based gaming will have to buy it, it’s dirty of Blizzard, but it all depends on the release schedule (it could end up being irrelevant). I won’t buy it tho, those days are behind me.

3 days ahead of others is a++ from any point of view.

While others start at 70 lvl the new expansion as was designed some others are already max lvl -even max lvl professions and receive the benefit of being many steps ahead from others.
It’s a way to milk the cow from any possible way.

Having the benefit of early access in a game where it suppose to fair play is somehow unfair due that You Bought the game and already paying for a Subscription that is already running 24/24
Either way something problematic is that Other than Mythic and Raid that aren’t released on the early access i don’t know about delves . If delves are going from 1st day is going to be a break-point due the gear and we know how Blizzard mess-up thing

So is it equally ruined when people level through launch night into the early hours while others have to work?

Is it ruined for the people who can only play in the evenings?

Not everyone can play at the same time. But everyone is gated by the season start date. Thats when raids m0 m+ etc are open.

Whilst I personally don’t have an issue with EA, I can appreciate that some see it as a money grabbing move.

I had a ton of problems with Remix yet she complained twice as much about it, what are you on about XD

Maybe that’s just her opinion

Yes, let’s concern ourselves with people who beta test and help the developers making the final product that bit more polished for the rest who engage with the content. All because of the advantage those in the world first raid race may get. It doesn’t even matter for M+ because outside of events like MDI and The Great Push then it rarely is like they keep secrets about strategies, least of all things from the beta.

The season start part is why i generally don’t have too much of an issue with it either even when i’m not a fan of this business practice in general. As a certain panda here pointed out in a different thread about this then it can lead to feeling left out if you’re the only one in the group without early access, especially when it spans over the weekend, the prime gaming days of the week for most.
