Why FFXIV over WoW...?

WoW is boring post ilvl 240, and I doubt that an average player will push +20 keys or even 15’s. Old content is a scaling mess, that becomes even worse with each passing expansion.

And quiet honestly I don’t see that collecting crap is saving the game either because of scaling on content and drop chances on mounts are beyond ludicrous🙄.

PVP isn’t that fun either. One who mashes button faster, has higher ilvl or a better comp is going to get stomped on regardless of skill.

Content itself is valid ONLY trough the course of the expansion and after its done… well goodbye hours of grind, sure, have tmog from that expansion show for it, but in a long term - buying an expansion 30€ a pop and then just forgetting about whatever made that expansion great ain’t good in my bowl of soup.

For me personally, atleast, I dont have any friends to play with, however do dungeons and heroic raids with them or with community rarely.

To be quiet honest, it’s not the resources, it’s not the time that developers lack. It’s laziness.
Look at the community council and check out what kind of response there is from Blizzard. Almost nothing.

WoW’s story sure hit the toilet too, which is something else I’m finding off putting.
Deciding that everything was down to the Jailer in some capacity was a bad move.
Oh and everything is 3D printed.

True…not sure why Blizz doesn’t link low population servers sooner, although I’m not a fan of sharding. However, I appreciate there is a delicate balancing act between seeing lots of other players and annoying amounts of lag, especially in any current Xpac hub.

Blizzard servers are hilariously bad with zone lag, and people hopping in/out of a shard quickly for world bosses and such seem to make it worse. The original server cap was lower than what we have now but I still feel like pre-cata servers held out better for zone battles and such. They could do better as far as their server performance goes.

Seems legit…conspiracy theories are currently all the rage… pretty sure if he had been called Che Zovaal, some of the playerbase would have embraced the idea with considerably more gusto and less mewling.

No, FF is actually well up there as having turgid and clunky movement, it’s the only game I’ve played, where I’ve had to put the feel of it to one side to enjoy it. Tried again to get back in for EW and yeah, it’s so slow, clunky and masks this by having a million useless spells and big flash bangs.

WoW is smooth as GW2 though.

It´s an idiotic allocation of resources that is to blame. Just think of all the time spent on Island expeditions, Warfronts and azerite armor in BFA, if all that time had been spent elsewhere BFA could have been one of the better WoW expansions for sure.

Same goes for Shadowlands. Everything about the covenants suck, time wasted. Boreghast awful, and just like in BFA, instead of just giving up on it, they keep spending time trying to fix something no one is going to play in the next expansion.

Honestly, I don´t even really want to play FFXIV that much. Even though I have written many positives about it in this thread, it is definitely an overrated game. If WoW were actually good (or if Covid didn´t happen so many games would not have been delayed) I would never have played it.

FF has a very specific art style that just doesn’t resonate with me, nor grow on me.
It seems to be just like any other game that came out of Asian market, with over too top music and unnecessary effects flashing left and right, making me feel sick to be honest. I know WoW raids and Epic BG’s do that too at times, but there is a limit on how much it can happen due to for the most part the hardest hitting abilities will yield a big explosion or effect and then it just comes down.

I dont really know, so don’t quiet quote me on this yet, however seamless class switch is cool, in theory. It’s all good and dandy that you don’t have to level 900 different toons with each specific class, and resort to just one, but what is the ultimate point of shaping one character to be Jack of all trades & jack of all. It just kills the immersion in that sense.

Armor is also quiet typical. There is bland oversaturation of everything with no definitive style, while WoW has an amazing universe with specifically emphasized parts, like shoulders on Orcs, or Forsaken boniness (kek).

Ultimately, I still stand on the opinion that WoW would benefit a bit from intaking some of that Elder Scrolls juice. (singe player games, like Morrowind). Just revamp some zones to feature multiple quest chains designed for an RPG experience and choices that come back in form of dialogue between NPC’s, or new quests opening.

BfA did music, and art style amazingly. Even up to this day I love putting my orc into the Arathi or whatever it was plate set. The spikey one, yes.

Shadowlands doesn’t resonate with me at all, besides the concept of afterlife and Castle Nathria and SoD loot.

Tier set is kind of okay, but defo not very pleasing.

Tbh you only have to get them once and then they’re account-wide so it ain’t really that big of a deal

Considering how brilliant and fun GW2 mounts are I’d say it’s definitely worth it GW2 utterly annihilates every other MMO when it comes to mount design and functionality

I know this may be an incomparable thing but how in difficulty do M+ dungeons compare to savage raids - I know savage is 8 people and M+ is 5 and probably lower keys are easier than Savage but for example if you take M+10 upwards, would Savage still be harder?

I play ff14 untill i been intruduced to pvp.

Unninstalled it instantly.

Some people are talking about how chill, non-toxic and friendly that ffxiv community is, but in reality… just try reading their comments about wow in YT, reddit, even wow forums

Ff14 and WoW is so different from eachother even they are the same genre. Hard to even compare the 2.

I felt upon a video made by some girl a regular of ff 14 basically she would tell you what not to do in game or so you could get a report, long story short the video was around two hours of shenanigans and rambling that I of course didn’t go through not even fifteen minutes there was so many things you should not do than it just felt a huge shot in the feet !
