Why FFXIV over WoW...?

it’s overrated and overhyped yes, been saying this for a year, also all real life people i met who play mmo’s still would rather play classic wow or New World. It truly does seem like the people who hate on wow are these extreme weeb fanboys who are so lost in life that they spent every single breath being concerned about FF being better. Has no one noticed how mentally ill and down your throat FF players are? I actually gave FF a chance and tried it, not worth my time and probably wont be worth yours either. If you dont like wow, i’d suggest just playing completely different video game genre, because no mmo will ever be like wow and make people emotional the same way about it. Sorry not sorry if it hurt someone, but it’s true

Bruh, you just basically smashed your own statement right there, lol.

someones butthurt? lol

Butthurt? You called a whole community mentally ill, while you said the ones who spreading hate are the weeb fanboys, which is pretty ironic (?). Yet you call me butthurt as I pointed this out

And what exactly did those people lost in life?
Because I’m 100% sure you lost this conversation for sure

Dunno about that, I usually see enough people in Goldshire or SW too standing around ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I agree with you and it’s nice to see some sane people after seeing what FF14 fans are like on youtube and reddit. It’s like mass psychosis has taken over FF14 fans, more than 50% of your time is click click click on quest text where people talk in ye olde english then you finish talking to the NPC and have to teleport to start a conversation with another NPC while having a lalafel fly over your head in a car mount with wings.

The only thing that must keep most of these guys interested in the borderline unintelligible MSQ is the seemingly constant c*** tease that your character may have some hope of romance with Y’shtola LOL.

When i tried final fantasy, what really bothered me right away was the amount of loading screens and invisible walls. It really kills the feeling of immersion and exploration. I remember limsa, one of the main hubs, having multiple loading screens. I really couldn’t feel the scale of the city. Shame because it looked pretty good.

That is actually 100% true. In wow we waste too much time on lfg, both for pve and pvp. The design of the game in a way force players to behave like that, to be very picky, but the players themselves have long since started to take this game more seriously than their real jobs. This is imo one of the rare advantages of most other mmo games over wow. Gw2, ff14, eso, etc, may not offer as much prestigious content-stuff as wow but they are in the first place games whose main purpose is to entertain players. They don’t try to be another full-time job.

One of the banal examples where the wow team is constantly making mistakes: Renown. I’m lvl 80 necro on this char, which means I’ve done all the necessary grind with this covenant to get to the max lvl. Wouldn’t it make sense that my other chars also have this covenant on lvl 80? Of course it would be not only logical but also normal. But no, blizz wants me to do that disgusting chore with all my chars again.

This is just one of a bunch of other examples where it is clear that blizz does not respect the players’ time.

Remember folks, FFXIV ‘respects your time’…

Neither game respects your time, no games do but its up to you if you want those games to be what you do as a part of your spare time. They’re created to take up your time regardless of how they’re designed in comparison to their competitors.

Surely they’d just be playing FFXIV?

Have you considered the possibility, and I know this sounds crazy, that some people are coming here to proselytise, and people are rejecting being proselytised at?

I Know, crazy, it’s almost like people don’t like people turning up to pick a fight?

Why anyone would wanna play FFIV or any copy of WoW when you can play real thing?

because wow now is in a terrible state. BUT wow and ffxiv are not the same thing.

I don’t play either.

Switched to GW2 and why was I torturing myself by not playing this sooner? FF combat sends me to sleep, WoWs world is boring all heck these days.

GW2 is buttery smooth, and the zones are just so darn impressive that I can’t help grin whilst running around them.

really? i tried it but i find it “old”. dunno why. in this way i prefer wow.

Yeah, gw2 is a great game that has great graphics, combat, animations, etc. I have been playing it almost from the beginning, but I have never managed to play it continuously for more than 3 months.

you know? for me is the same. ff,gw,eso, swtor are really good games. but wow, even in this miserable state is the only game i can play for more than 1 month.

Fixed it for you, it’s more accurate.

The grind to get on certain mounts kills me.

Hey, you’ve done that to me before. Does that mean you’ve smashed your own statements too?

:3

Blizzard would’ve probably opened more servers and done more than FFXIV has for the queues but it would probably be worse off down the line when subs drop doing that.

ff14 has a new expansion to explore, wow has mage tower…

that is the go to response right now…

i want to say both games are good… but wow recently not so much (to a new player it could be great though)

ff14 i cant say much about it havent played the new expansion much yet… but it’s usually u get what you expect of a mmorpg in ff14… there is no bullcrap involved like in wow.
