Why give ranged classes stealth

Seriously why do ranged classes like hunters and mages get stealth? Isn’t the whole idea behind stealth to give certain more squishy melee dps a chance to close gaps because ranged have the advantage.

How does that argument stack when mages and hunters have so many defensives now and can also explode you from ranged.

Its genuinely baffling to me how this is ok that a hunter can sit in stealth AND open at range from stealth.

I have no issue with that, it gives classes multiple purposes and roles, and experienced players will understand how these classes functions in the battleground, classes that excels in defending is precisely hunters, warlocks, druids and rogues. and viceversa in terms of attacking a node not necessarily by killing blows but utilizing their tool kits to turn the tables in the battleground to create diversions.

It all falls in experience once you get to know these patterns you can then be ahead and being able to counter it.

no - the game, even today, is not first and foremost designed as an eSport.

rogues have stealth because it makes sense in the lore.

hunters have camo stealth because it makes sense in the lore.

mages have magic invisibility because it makes sense in the lore.

dont forget to stop and smell the roses, OP.

got that in tbc btw

It is genuinely the most common thing for archers to first strike from the shadows…

And as a DK… you can grip anything 1000 times anyway… grant them hunters at least the opening shot
