Why has blizzard changed the looks on several of my characters?

Hey.

I just noticed that my very old alts, Some of them have just changes hair, Eye, Skin color.

Did blizzard change or remove certain appearence options?

I know that Shadowlands introduced several changes, as well as Dragonflight with the coming of Dracthyr. They might have improved some of the options.
But most also have improved the graphics quality.
(Or I may have gotten a better graphyics card along the way. Who knows :sweat_smile: :rofl:)

Not logged into this guy for many years.

But he is very changed, Used to have the black top knot hairstyle and i would never make that light of a skin tone.

There’s a few dwarves, worgen, Night elf that is also changed

Yeah it happens sometimes even with npc. Wonder what happened to this guy:

This happened to some of my alts too, its a visual bug, logging into the character puts it back to its normal looks.

Good to know I wasn’t going crazy. I have a night elf with red hair, and I hadn’t logged into her since before they added that colour.

Seems you were correct.

Very odd visual bug then.

Perhaps some ID-mixups in the files. As you know, many things in the game (items, transmogs, etc) have ID numbers for the data pull.

Likely due to a patch the numbers got changed unintentionally, at least for the customizations.

My best guess would be with the addition of customisations options, that the corresponding choices you made are now different things in the menus.

Extremely odd.

Many mounts also got stealth-remodeled, e.g the fire hawks look more like canaries now than phoenixes. Far from the grand look they had before.

Yeah, that was my assumptions.

Happy that it was just a bug and they did not actually changed the characters
