At the last WoW update, Windows requested approval for installation. Now I see that I had a battlenet_helpersvc loaded into my start up sequence. I had already selected that I did not want the app loaded at start up.
The service has no descriptor listed under services nor was there any warning regarding this. the path to the executable is C:\ProgramData\Battle.net_components\battlenet_helpersvc\AgentHelper.exe
If you do not want this Battlenet agent helper to load at start up, Locate: System Configuration > Services > check the “Hide all Microsoft services” this will bring up all apps/Exe which shows that the battlenet helper has been checked. Just uncheck and save then exit. Routinely check the system configuration for any alterations
For anyone who wishes to know which services are loading when your PC loads windows, then google “Autoruns”. It is free and has a much easier interface than the windows service UI. It will also show you code that is being ran without showing up on the services list.
