Why i feel blizzard dont care anymore about the players

at the end of BFA we had talks between the devs that they are going to listen to the community more and care about what we have to say,

then SL came out, and in the start it looks like it was true, until all the problems people warned blizzard about was ignored and everyone saw the fall of SL from before 9.1
yet i and a lot like me kept playing, following my guild to 9.1 and started playing the patch, quickly felt like the game hasn’t changed for the better and just made the number to chase higher

even after the problem with the legendry’s slots, and the shards who were not tested at all came out just the same as player who play in the PTR warned
and yet again the players were ignored,

And then, the sky came down at blizzard and they were been sued for sexual harassments and much much worst, yet some of the players stays, and i cant blame then, the game can be really good from time to time and very enjoyable when you play with friends yet instead of trying to say sorry for the stuff that we done or even as a thanks for the players who stayed subs at this hard times they came out with another 6 months sub mount, trying to milk players of more money, of course people bought it, the mount looks amazing, i would say even better then any mount in the entire SL, but again only to make people buy more subs.

what i am trying to say here is i think as players we need to be more active about what’s wrong and not only saying it to the devs but make them understand that players are not just another wallet to get money from, but an active player base who loves the game and care enough about it to work hard to fix it

i dont expect much from this forum post but i had to put it out here to maybe see if i am not alone in this mind set

thanks for reading and sorry for bad grammer

right, well the only way any form of change will ever happen is to quit the game and force blizz to accept the game is down on standards.
Nothing else matters and nothing else will have any form of impact on the game. I know you think your opinion matters, but to blizz it means absolutely nothing unless youre one of those sad losers on youtube who sell themselves to promote a computer game.

You can wah wah, you can blah blah, you can blah wah wah blah all you like … it will make 0% difference in any way.
Money walks, money talks … its the way of the world, especially in america.

The sub mount is to suck up to a large portion of the player base, blizz do it every year.
Ive, personally, never bought anything from the shop and never will … its pixels.

I’m confident Blizzard cares about the players, the problem is they care about some more than others. But like stated above, money talks and that’s the only way they’ll truly listen because why would they care about our feelings if we continue to pay for something we’re not happy with anyway? Being more active in letting them know what’s wrong isn’t going to help if you’re going to continue to pay for it.

You wouldn’t go to McDonalds every day to buy a Big Mac knowing it’s disgusting and then still buy AND eat it just to tell them it’s disgusting would you?

If you’re not happy just quit, it should be that simple.

We are equal, but some are more equal than others. Fits Blizz like a glove.

I don’t think it’s a matter of caring. I think they want to make a good game and give players something to enjoy. They aren’t deliberately making a bad game (despite some tinfoil hat threads online).
I just think they don’t really know how to make a game that is enjoyable to the vast majority of the playerbase. Some players will enjoy whatever they put out, it’s possible to enjoy a bad game if you have good friends around.

Part of the problem is that there is a huge bell curve of players in terms of playstyle and capablilities. Some players want more challenge so they try this with the Maw and it puts off many casuals.

I don’t think they play the game (or many any games). They seem to have lost their sense of fun. Everything has to be systemised and made into a chore / grind. They can’t just do things for fun.
The 9.2 zone seems like it might be more fun-oriented with the crafting system for mounts and pet. But I’m not that optimicist given the codex research grind. If it takes as long to grind that then I’ll be done with 9.2 in days. I think it’s a false economy to prolong systems with slow grinds as it puts off more players than it entices to play longer.

The zone lay outs (since Legion) have been so maze-like and highly densely populated, they’re just not fun to get around. They seem to think this is gameplay, it isn’t. They would know how unfun this is if they played it.

I think they do care but they just don’t understand.

They listened to a lot of feedback for SL, they just didn’t want to listen to the feedback about Covenants. They felt it was crucial to have ‘meaningful choice’.

The forums are always full of feedback as are other areas of the world wide web. It’s not like they don’t have access to it all.

The other issue is that Blizzard ‘learn a lesson’ then a while later forget that lesson and repeat the same thing again, only for players to express their dislike for it, all over again.

This is so true.
WoD dungeon quests had players leave when they got the item required. Bliz added a “Kill final boss” requirement to prevent this.
Legion dungeon quests had the same issue. same fix.
and in SL we’re reliving the same issue with conduits and memories dropping from particular bosses.

Because last time they cared about players was WoD and during Legion development. As soon as Legion got released they are only interested in you money. Whole design is done to make you subbed but not necessarily enjoy the game.

Then you are living in denial, they couldn’t give a rat about your 1000000 zillions of feedback. Why else does it take them years to act on stuff right?

BECAUSE THEY DON’T CARE!

Wha… why… are you replying that to me? That’s what I’m saying.

they don’t give 2 cents about players, or player feedback, or we wouldn’t be in this situation.
OP what do you propose we do as players, beside canceling our subs?

And SL received the greatest alpha/beta test the game ever received.

It doesn’t mean that 9.0 was flawless but there has been multiple features that were changed based on feedback alone, such as consumable conduits, being basically locked in your covenant for a month, an actual timer in Torghast etc.

I’m fairly sure I have a preach video lying around supporting that claim if you’d rather hear it from a former mythic raider than a random forum user.

Compared to BFA’s “Here’s what your going to receive, we don’t have time to work on this anymore so deal with it” approach that was a pretty great change in attitude.

Yeah despite all I talked above it basically stopped at SL’s launch. Silence radio for months, basically no changes until 9.1 and then 9.1 not only doubled down on the same issues but arguably made things worse (domination shards anyone ?)

Words are cheap, I’d rather have them prove their sincerity with actual actions. Such as the 9.1.5 changes which seriously improved the experience imo.

But more than that, the 9.2 changes are fairly good so far.

  • An open world exclusive progression system that doesn’t provide any player power.
  • Flying gated behind 2 weeks of story content and a bit of exploration. Previously gated behind 3 weeks of the previously mentioned upgrades.
  • 2nd legendary basically given for free on the 5th week of story content. Previously required revered reputation.
  • A lot of catch-up / open world / crafted gear for casuals & alts.

That’s extremely good imo, I only realistically have one major concern left and it’s regarding the conduits and tier set acquisition, which haven’t been implemented yet on the PTR.

First things first : There’s no more effective way to voice your concern than to vote with your wallet.

And the reason why we still have shop mounts is because that’s exactly what players did. Yeah unexpectedly that works both ways.

That said while feedback & criticism are necessary don’t fall into the trap of thinking that just because you have an issue with something and that people agree with you then it’s necessarily the right thing to do.

Best example I could think of would be when the classic fanatics were flooding the forum about how vanilla’s design was superior in every shape or form and that Retail should take notes or fade into oblivion. Yet we’re still here, right ?

Don’t hesitate to be critical and voice your opinion, but remember to give credit where credit is due. There’s no point in providing feedback if half of the arguments are either lies or hyperboles imo.

(Not talking about your thread in particular don’t worry, merely giving my 2 cents)

You might want to re read his post because he clearly did not say what you thought he did he is actually agreeing with you :woman_facepalming: :woman_facepalming: :woman_facepalming:

I guess reading has got a lot harder recently for some on this forum.

I think Blizzard just struggles with production output.

I mean, the playerbase consists of many smaller sub-communities that all want their own interests covered - be that raiding or arena or pet battles or solo content or whatever.

And Blizzard’s job is basically to feed all of these sub-communities with content that’s relevant to their interests.

And when a sub-community gets its interests covered in a new patch or expansion, then it’s pretty happy and satisfied for a while. Until the desire for something new kicks in again.

And Blizzard are evidently struggling to keep up with the demand for more content from its playerbase. They’re slow. Too slow. So players become unhappy. Makes sense.

I don’t think it’s a matter of Blizzard not caring or not understanding or not playing their own game.
WoW is a content-driven game, so it needs frequent and regular content updates to be a satisfying game experience.
And that’s what Blizzard struggles with.
And it’s why players feel ignored and upset.

It’s my age…

It’s what they do every expansion.

Devs: “just wait 'til the next one (Expansion) guys we gonna overhaul everything, gonna change it all, all you need to do is bring your wallet”

Next xpax arrives…

Players: “umm why hasn’t anything changed?”

Devs: "just wait 'til the next one (Expansion) guys we gonna…
