What is the agenda against this spec? Performs well in Nathria, drop a 50% nerf on the specs head and never compensate it.
Gets a niche, highly counterable “one-shot” mechanic in pvp (deathbolt) which requires more globals and undisrupted set up than spells that INSTANTLY hit harder than it; effectively removed from the game after half a patch.
Has classes that can up and remove their entire burst set up with a click of a button (revival, reverse magic, etc)
Finally has a modicum of survival thanks to a stupid trinket combined with drain life so it no longer needs to play chicken for the entire arena - botch the trinket so that idea is gone.
Has the absolute most pitiful, poorly designed, lowest dps increase 4 set bonus ever imagined and their solution was some lazy pvp talent at the cost of even more survivability (goodbye demon armor)
The spec is practically unplayable in 2/3 content forms in this game and is severely underperforming in raid except for an extreme niche (council) of which it is easily outshined by it’s bolt pushing counterpart. A set bonus still unusable in mythic+, shamefully weak damage windows every 60 seconds.
“Just play the other 2 specs, they’re OP!” I am aware, believe me, and I do play them, but that doesn’t excuse a spec being left to rot(hehe) and completely subpar in all forms of content, if it was the obvious worst spec of the trio but at least viable, I’d not need to make this rant.
Please explain to me how Affliction has dodged the most recent bluepost regarding class tuning, thank you.
It’s not an agenda against affli. It’s an agenda against lock in general. Warlock, across every specc, has been the only class to constantly recieve nerfs every patch while other classes are running rampart ruining the experience for everyone else.
I don’t really need you to comment twice that you are accepting of gross and lazy incompetence from a company you pay monthly, but alright.
It’s negligence to let any spec in this game be an absolute burden to a group by picking it, and a simple nudge of a dial every couple of months to bring it a little bit more up to speed is not asking for much.
A small percentage buff to focused malignancy immediately assists affliction in it’s sorely lacking single target damage and has no effect on anything else? But hey man, if you’re happy I guess it’s fine if a spec is borderline useless.
I mean all specs are totally viable, often its thencommunity that makes something unviable not the damage or spec itself.
I agree with the tuning idea in terms of achieving a single target damage increase, but it wont do much.
The issue with affi is the same as unholy, its too many globals to set up and roll damage. The current game design doesnt like the style of specs like this.
Its a shame cos affi is enjoyable but makes it alot of work to get it up competitive levels, and is such an a$$ to balance.
Ehm in terms of ae there was seeds - which just doesnt interact with setboni - that was fine.
In terms of ST its just a undertuning on bolt/drain or haunt, easy to fix.
so yeah its either incompetence, neglect or spite, your choice.
And for pvp your are/were countered by a shaman/druid/mw/holy priest heal with a brain and half the dps specs countered your 2m burst themself like dh, rogue, monks, shaman, dk, hunter, mage and now this season fury.
There were no affli R1 last season and doubt s1 was better. Affli is awfull by blizzards design of giving magic immunitys and dot removal to every dps, nothing else. Good for padding, thats it.
I always try to get the FD dispel before i burst, but only had hunter’s are doing this.
Like bad rogues using CoS when they burst, so i can’t cc them.
But after that they can easily be killed. I love the necrolord Shadowbolt build. Yesterday i had 46k as highest crit, with the Skyfury Totem. Without it my highest crit was 38k.
nerfed by 70% cause they bugged the leggy, will only take 4-6 months till fix, sorry.
Also Proccing to rarely to even keep itself up permanently without hardcast, there are often more than 10-20 sec without a procc even on 3 targets dotted, so to keep up the buff you cant pool and you def cant burst with full stacks anyway versus any competetent player, normally hits for like 5k on full dotted target, so almost a fury autohit every 15sec when you can multidot.
if they nerfed the only viable ST pve affli leggy with no notice then I have no more words.
If it happened while there were lots of bug reports on PTR then its incompetence at its finest.
anyway was only subbed as long could make some gold from ah, tried m+ not my beer so nothing left anyway. Not playing melee vs rmp craft.
problem with people like you is they don’t understand that a lot of players view their spec as their class. Some people will roll shaman to be healers. Let’s say shaman healer is terrible. So they should go dps? It does not make sense. It’s a reroll for them if they want to perform or not get destroyed.
Affli theme is rot, dot, sustain and drain. Demo is summoning and army, destro is idk what, I hate it. I guess it’s kaboom, infused with fel power mage. Whatever.
Point is, if YOU view your class as the 3 specs, that’s your PoV. others rolled warlocks to be specifically a certain spec. So yeah, when a spec gets gutted, they’re not happy. So hard to understand after all these years on the forums?
You can post twice a second, quantity is not quality.
Look through my logs from now and since I started playing again in Legion. I’m a demo main. regardless of how good or bad the spec is, I’ll play it, aside from maybe doing a full run as a different spec every once in a while. The difference is that I know and understand that it’s all my doing and I don’t start whining and complaining when the spec is underperforming. I choose to play the underdog.
The problem with people like you is that you assume too much.
