Why is Affliction literally banished to the shadow realm?

Yes, I get it. It was harsh, but people like Bloodlock act like Blizzard has just murdered his family with a hatchet. It’s so unwarranted.

OP is pretty bang on though.

True it is hard for locks since Legion, Ion’s rework wasn’t good for is in pvp. PvE warlocks where anyways good or not?

I did PVP in another region, but my friends just stopped playing at some point because they weren’t happy about the weird one-shot things, so we play other games together now. I was playing Demonbolt demo in 3’s, it was a lot of fun and we were doing well. I don’t know anyone in EU that likes doing PVP and I’m not willing to PUG.

What is this detritus take? You guys act like its this is a job and we should be happy that we are able to do content on other specs. WoW is a good damn game for our entertainment and if we are not satisfied with our experiance we must express our dissatisfaction so the devs can notice and take action.

Why should we just sit idle on our hands and wait just because we should accept our favoured spec is rubbish? When i come home after a day with oil and grease up to my elbows i just want to disconnect with the real world and play aff lock(and lets not forget the money we pour in to the game year after year) for a while and not feel like a burden to the group just because the devteam decided to disregard the spec and not tune it.

We’re not employes, we’re customers. Act like it

Ok, the 4pc bonus really badly interacts with soul drain, which “needs” to be casted for full duration and eating so many GCDs and the style is thus awkward.

But I honestly think the main problem is weak big CD. If you buff dots too much they will outscale. Our current main CD extends dots by 8 sec; adding (with current 4pc bonus) very low dmg. We need to buff darkglare damage from 10% to 50% per DoT effect and all will be repaired. Wont outscale in ST situation will add much needed AoE without putting MR into question.

I mean look at immolotion aura dmg haveing on its own 10 000 dps + add infernal attack; and blashemy adds another 5 000k dps; eyebeem does 260 dps

I havent seen any rogue nerf since s3 start  (only the 4 set piece of the assa, but 50% is hard as hell too)

affliction is in a weird spot in which blizzard doesn’t want to make dots tick for so much damage in single target, because of what happened in legion
ranged dot specs are the only specs in the game who could multiply their damage in spread cleave situations ,
so blizzard is trying to make have choose between strong single target or good aoe , like everything else
for raid, affliction actually does pretty good single target damage with decimating bolt ( competing with demo ) , but the thing is it relies on the worst legendary in the game which made the rotation impossibly hard to play

I hope that when remaking the talent trees blizzard can fix the spec

if you’re complaining about the damage then yes, blizzard should absolutely do more frequent tuning

The forums have been quiet. People are trying to keep affliction secret.

It’s only the PVP’er’s that come in here whining when things don’t go their way, anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

The rotation is easier than any other spec. You just maintain DOT’s, MR to maintain buff and drain. The one, solitary thing that makes actual play differ from simulations is movement.

You absolutely aren’t competing with demo

Drain Soul build in PvE that good? In PvP Affliction Lanka Demon armor… instead of increasing survivability for warlocks they keep nerfing it.

I’m still thinking Demon armor, Demon Skin and Soul Link should be baseline abilities.

I didn’t really understand some of that but aff is pretty strong in PVP right now.

I couldn’t play since the Dark Pact buff, so thinking of trying it out. I’m watching maldiva and other players. They still prefer demo, i think demo lacks a big execute since the nerf to decimating Bolt.

I’m seeing them prefer aff. It’s become tanky as hell

There’s a couple that still stick with demo, but I don’t watch all of them…

Nice thank you, need to swap to Affliction. I love dot dmg but having the drain soul/Shadowbolt
build option is nice.

You use Drain Life talent and the PVP talent that reduces damage taken from channelling it, I think

But then you should be nf for the soul rot buff. Necrolord still loses against NF

Have a look around, see what people are using. I don’t know what covenant people are playing. All I know is that they’re blasting and tanking a sh*t load of damage. It seems pretty nuts compared to what was happening before the ‘apocalypse’ adjustments.

You think 'cause I haven’t posted in here in a while I can let you get away with posting some asinine nonsense to these poor victims with your uneducated “advice”.

Affliction has seen a noticeable improvement in the PVE front, namely in raid and on single target application, it’s no longer complete swill and actually shows some competitive numbers when injected with power infusion and a catered legendary setup.

However, can’t have you spreading misinformation in here about afflictions newfound “preferred” status in PvP. I have no idea what sources you go by, but I can tell you that any serious PvPer actively trying to compete will have already shifted back to Demonology after a brief experiment with these small buffs to the affliction kit.

I’d like you to know that the weaknesses I spoke of have not been addressed with these fixes and affliction is still extremely suspect to being easily countered/managed by many a spec, whilst Demonology, the already preferred choice of the season, gained a buff to its pets mortal strike effect, ultimately further ascending its dominance this season.

I implore you to visit websites such as xunamate and arenamate and find me some form of evidence as to the sudden rise of affliction being a preferred choice now, and if data gives you anxiety- then a valid, competitive streamer or even ladder player that is actively playing affliction at any high rating, and that doesn’t mean goofing around on their 3rd alt at low ratings.

Demonology is still vastly superior and this is fact, your random unwarranted bias against affliction is actually stinging my eyes to read. I’m just glad my call was heeded and they gave this spec something!

Don’t be a dick. All I did was suggest people try it because I’ve seen people doing really well with it.

“How dare you disagree with me. I want to see your managers manager!”

The result of blizzard listening to dog warlock players who like UA stacking and malefic rapture instead of going back to wotlk design.
