Afflicts the target with a disease that instantly causes (65% of Spell power) Shadow damage plus an additional 4 Shadow damage over 6 sec. Heals you for 50% of damage dealt.
If this effect is reapplied, any remaining damage will be added to the new Devouring Plague.
After testing it actually just means that you can stack devouring plagues on top of each other and the damage adds up linearly.
I’m really wondering why they had to make it confusing while it could just be visually understandable with a simple stack mechanic?
1: Ignite already existed as a mage mechanic people understood, which is highly similar to this Devouring Plague
2: When the stacking was implemented to DP, there were still mechanics involving dot extension that would have obscenely powerful with straight up stacking dots. This was a point I raised on the Beta thread before DP had any such interaction at all, and was comparing different ways to add it.
3: Stacking UA had just been moved away from for Affliction
4: It just looks cleaner on a UI
5: It keeps the time between different devouring plague ticks consistent (Still varied by haste though)
I don’t really get how you find this complicated, its just a way of saying it won’t override existing applications so you can cast it whenever you like.
